Hello everyone, I seen an accessible stock application that was posted on Applevis in 2014. I would like to know if that is the most accessible application up-to-date. Also the application cost $15 I would like to know if the accessibility still remains the same way, before I even purchased the application. If there's any application that someone is using to check the stock market and to invest in the stock market that is very accessible kindly let me know thank you. I look forward to your reply thank you

If you are in the u.s. and can hear well?
I used to do etrade totally by telephone.
I could check any stock, buy, sell and do much else.
They also have a software but no idea how accessible it is.
Also google has all that info.

Let me know if you do decide to purchase it, and how accessible it is. I am still debating

I've heard that the trading service Robinhood's iOS app is accessible, including accessible charts. I have not confirmed this myself, but if you are in the U.S. or other place they serve, it appears to be free to try and to trade with. If you learn more please share on AppleVis. www.robinhood.com
P.S. The eTrade website is pretty accessible, I've not tested any mobile apps. For advanced trading OptionsXpress.com is usable (desktop website), the OptionsXpress iOS app is a failure. Schwab's website is also god, again I don't know about mobile apps. I am a little old-fashioned I guess when I am dealing with the more complex stuff I like a PC's power.

Hello,
The following is just an observation, and I don't mean to cast any aspersions about anyone on this forum, their circumstances or abilities...
but if you are not prepared to risk the comparatively small outlay to trial an accessible app, are you really sure that the risky nature of Stock Trading will be a comfortable fit for you?
Rather than wade into the market armed only with an accessible app, maybe start by contacting a reputable Broker.
There are heaps of market research tools available online, some free some paid, but for the beginner no amount of Apps can replace real world experience.

I truly value your observation. But after spending 28k with legacy education, for education I am looking for my best option. I'm sorry if I expressed myself wrongly. They recommend think or swim which is not very accessible. Thank you very much for your observation I value it very much.

Thank you very much, I will be looking into those. Our coach recommended Think or swim but like I said it is not accessible. I will definitely check those out. Thank you so very much for your feedback I truly appreciated. Have a good night

not sure what you are looking for in an app, but if yu just want quotes, stock pro is great, been using it since 2012. the quotes is "streaming real time", meaning it is perpetually updated. somes apps claim realtime quotes, but what they do is justr auto refresh, that's just not good enough for trading. don't know your trading style, but if you are a fast trader, like a round-trip trade in a few seconds, you'll probably need a computer to do that, i only use my phone as a quote machine.

use street insider to get pertinent market info, it delivers relevant market data/news via notifications:

stock station has some nice research tools, use it for research not quotes, because the quotes are just refreshed every fine seconds despite they call it "realtime", unless 5 second refresh is good enough for you.

Thank you so much for the information, I will be looking into those application. We just invested a chunk of money on education with legacy education to learn how to invest in the stock market. Honestly we are very overwhelmed right now they use the application think or swim but I found it not so accessible. That's why I am looking for Alternatives and ideas being blind I didn't know what are the best options for the visually impaired. Thank you very very much for your response I will be looking into those. Honestly right now from our coach perspective we have to start with paper trading before we even start investing. Our coach is not visually impaired and Has no idea on how to help me out so that's why I reached out to Applevis yes he did inform me that I could do it through the telephone but honestly I don't like making phone calls. That's why I am looking for alternatives but from your post and many others who posted here to help me out answering my question, it seems like the computer will be my best option. I will download Stocks pro thank you so much for your feedback, I will also download the other applications you have mentioned. Thank you

I need to be able to check the stock market, news, and The ability to purchase or sell stock when I'm not around my computer. That's why they use the Think or swim application it seems like you can do all of that with that one application, it is what it is I will get all the applications that I need So I can also be successful with investing, Thank you I love the News app that you recommended. Thank you very much And I am purchasing stock pro right now thank you so so much for your feedback honestly truly value it Thank you for your time I will try all these applications out and I will let legacy education know about them so once they have another student who is visually impaired they can help them out better. Thank you

TD Ameritrade has an app that I use as a totally blind person. It allows the user to buy/sell stocks & ETFs. Not mutual funds. I have used it for a while in conjunction with the default stock app that comes on the phone as well as the Yahoo Finance and Seeking Alpha app. I don't purchase individual stocks anymore, but I do have a series of ETFs that I can easily follow, buy, or sell with this app. Hope this helps. PS. The TD website is horrible with a screen reader and I very seldom go there.

I got the app in the App Store. The version number above is the only thing I can give you that I know of.

That one is TD ameritrade mobile, The other one is, TD ameritrade mobile trader, Which is the same thing as think or swim... Both apps belong to TD ameritrade... A little confusing that they have three apps to do the same thing. Thank you so much, giving me the version number made it way easier to figure out which one it was. Thank you for all your help and all your feedback truly value it

I have accounts with Fidelity. I find their app to be mostly accessible for what I use it for. I have successfully purchased and sold stocks with it on my iPhone.

"laboheme can I contact you off the list so you could explain . . ."

i assume you already have stock pro? the only section that is a bit complicated is your watch list. tap on any of thetickers to display the extended view, i.e., open high low volume, etc. tap on the extended area to get to the detail view with all the goodies.

if you launch the app for the first time, or you kill it from the switch and relaunch, the earnings section ibn the detail view will be presented as bar chart, tap the table switch so vo can read it.

Hi,
Now it is 2024, and my old standby options trading platform has been retired. THey replaced it by giving access to ThinkOrSwim. I still find this app not accessible enough, especially for advanced things like viewing option chains.
The Fidelity website is okand they have a new options chain screen which is about 85% accessible. The biggest issue is if you display multiple expiries at once the dates are hidden from screen readers. It is best to change it to show one date at a time when you can (not so good if you want to doa calendar spread). Fidelity is not the fastest and refreshes are manual.
Has anyone found better solutions especially for advanced options trades and executing them quickly? I'd really like a dedicated native desktop app but those seem entirely inaccessible. Mobile could be ok but I find the aps I've looked at such as Robinhood, the tables for option chains are just all lumped together for VoiceOver and even if theoretically accessible, to cognitively taxing to be useful. Same goes for Interactive Broekrs (IKBR) on both their desktop website and iOS mobile app.
