accessible simple budget apps?

Hi, all!

Hope you are all doing well! Happy Grandhog Day!

I have a question you. It might be a stupid one, but, I'm a simpleton when it comes to math. You're talking to a girl who had to be put in special math classes here. :) So, math is NOT my strong suit.

I'm also a cheapskate and pennypincher. As well as being all of those things, I am also a member of audible! And for the record, this is one very happy bookworm right here! :-)

However, even though I have a lot of money on my account, I still have the probably unfounded and unrealistic fear of running out of money. With my subscription and any app or music purchases besides that. Which, brings me to my question.

Do any of you know of any accessible simple budget or expense tracking apps?

I do not have a bank card. Basically, what I'm looking for is something that:

I can put in my subscription which is 17.11 USD. and the amount on my account
That will help me make sure that I have enough money for my subscription

Basically, something that I can put in the subscription, the amount of money on my account, and help me keep track of any app or music purchases that I make enough where it will help me make sure I've got enough money for the monthly fee.

I hope I'm making sense. I am not looking for something that's too complicated. Normally, I'm good at watching what and how much I spend. But, with a subscription, which, is new me, I just want to keep track of things and make sure I can plan that every month.

Also, I've done a little bit of searching on here, and seen something called iSpending, would that work what I wanted to do? Or would you guys recommend something different, and if so, what?

Thank you all in advance, for helping out a non-math wiz, and simpleton. As well as for potentially giving me a way to get over or settle my probably unfounded fears. :-) Because having a paid subscription is also very new to me. So, forgive me if I'm asking an incredibly stupid question.

Thank you!

I will check out iSpending! I have one question. I seen 2 versions of this app:

iSpending and

iSpending HD.

What's the difference between the two? Which one should I get?

Thank again! :-)

Thank you so much for clarifying that! That makes sense! I just wanted to make sure that there was no feature differences between the two versions. In terms of what I would need, and what I wouldn’t need.

Reading this today I thought it sounded good so have downloaded it.
However, unfortunately it seems that the ability to add recurring transactions is not available in the free version. I would not have minded paying for this app to get this feature, but it's a monthly subscription of €3.49 every month, which isn't really worth it for me personally.
I wonder are there any other apps which are either free or have just a one off purchase for this?

Check out every dollar. It’s a budgeting app that has a free tier and a paid tier. The paid tier allows you to connect a bank account or credit card, but you can do all of the expense tracking in the free tier. The app will prompt you to set up a new budget for every month, and you can use the previous months budget as a template, so that might give you all the features you would need to set up recurring transactions. There are a few quirks with it, but for the most part it’s accessible.

Hi, Dave! I thought this app looked good myself. And if you have a simple budget, that doesn't include recurring transactions, or you don't mind paying for a subscription to add subscriptions, (Sorry, couldn't resist) or even if you don't mind adding manually, then great! But, I'm like you. I have your opinion as well. And I only have Itunes money as a financial resource right now. I still think it's a wonderful app. For some use cases, it fits nicely.

Hello! Thank you for this! :-) I'm definitely checking it out! What quirks are there with it? Is an app entry available for it? This looks like it would fit my use case. As I do need recurring transactions. And I don't have a bank account or credit card. So, wouldn't need the paid tier. Thank you very much! :-)
