Looking to buy a new portable AC unit with an accessible app. Also would appreciate a check on tactile buttons. Here's what I found:
Honeywell uses the Residio app, which I have. Accessible text but the usual labelling annoyances: no selected indicator on things that need selecting, while all buttons on some other screens say "selected" when there's nothing to select. But I'll probably get this one.
Whynter: uses the NetHome Plus app. All helpful app store reviews are 1-star, while all the positive/recent reviews appear to be fakes--one liners by what appear to be non-native English speakers. I own a Whynter now and it has tactile buttons and puts out massive amounts of cold air as well as hot air in heat mode.
Fridigair: the Frigidair app gets very poor recent reviews.
LG: Same as for NetHome. Recent reviews combine lots of 1-stars with 5-star reviews that are all a few words long with poor grammar. That's for the ThinQ app. Don't know if that's for portable ACs.

not exactly an air codditioner, but dyson manufacturer has different models, each one with its own features: cool or warm air, build in air purifier ammong others. the app is accessible enough, and they can be controlled by siri, alexa etc. They are not cheap, but quality is great in my opinion. Also, the physical controller is easy to use and learn.
