Hi: Has anyone played with the Oxford Deluxe (ODE & OTE) app? I would like to download it but it is expensive and I don't want to spend the money if it is not accessible. If anyone has any coments or ideas about this App I would love to hear them. Thanks. Nancy

Interesting question, Nancy. I have Oxford Deluxe (ODE & OTE) on my iPhone 4S. As it's being maintained and developed by Enfour which also offers American Heritage® Dictionary 5th Edition and many other Reference applications, it's in effect quite similar to those. However, the exception is that currently the AHD 5 has been made accessible and the access module is being further refined for that. Once its access module matures, it'll be applied to the rest of Enfour's products. As for Oxford Deluxe, I can say that it's usable with the prime exception that currently you can't navigate around definitions paragraph by paragraph like what's the case with AHD 5. However, since the app can be perfectly used in continuous reading without VoiceOver pausing for each and every hyperlinked word, you can comfortably listen to definitions and synonyms in continuous reading without worrying about the difficulties of manual navigation. That said, I can only confirm this on my 4S which has also been updated to iOS 6, so this might or might not be the case under iOS 5.X. As a consequence, if you're looking for an absolutely smooth experience, you may want to wait for a couple of more months to get the access module imported into Oxford Deluxe. If, however, smooth handling of definitions in continuous reading satiates your dictionary appetite, there's nothing wrong with getting Oxford Deluxe.
