So I was wondering if there is an accessible app that would do the same thing, unless anyone can help me find one. If you want to be able to constantly monitor your heart rate, then you will need dedicated hardware... be that an Apple Watch, strap, or so on. This is also likely to be the most reliable and accurate option.

However, if you are simply wanting to take an occasional reading, then an app such as Instant Heart Rate: HR Monitor or Cardiio: Heart Rate Monitor *may* be worth a punt. These have you place your finger on the iPhone's camera to take a reading.

I've not tried this type of app myself, and the intrusive pop-up ads mentioned in some reviews rarely play well with VoiceOver, but they are free downloads and might work for you.

Good luck, and let us know if you find something that works for you.
