Hi everyone,
My name is James and I have been making video games professionally since 2005.
I just wanted to add a post to say that I came across your site after reading a post by Shaun Musgrave on Touch Arcade about accessible gaming and found the information here, from a developers viewpoint, incredibly useful.
For the last few years I have been thinking about ways I could help people with the skills I have developed over the years. I've read a lot about educational games along with including accessibility in games for people with learning, hearing, visual, mobility or cognitive issues.
I have come across a lot of sites that are very vague or seem to be trying to raise awareness for various things but didn't really give me any indication on how to do something to help. The articles and forum posts here have given me some great insight into how blind users interact with their devices and where other apps have gone right and wrong from an accessibility perspective.
I am starting to get some free time and hopefully I will finally get to do some experimenting. I'm glad to read that a lot of people would like more RPGs and at least one person would like a 3D platformer :)
Thanks for the information.
James.
