Hi,

I’m Daouna, the lead UI designer for Rock On, a music trivia game focused on Rock music.

About 5month ago, we could gather a great voice over game testers from this community, and the help we've got has been tremendous. The app is now accessible using Voice over, and finally live on the App Store. We really appreciate all of you supporting us. Hope everyone can enjoy the new version and test their music knowledge!

hi their, I absolutely love this game, and would love to see more like this. I do have an issue I need to bring up, when your listening to the songs and flick through the choices with voiceover, it cuts off the song and makes it sound really choppy. is their a way you guys could fix this so the song keeps playing as your flicking through the choices to select the answer? other then this minor issue, I really enjoy playing this game, and I'm already up to level 6.

Hi. I noticed that same bit of choppiness with the music as well, so it's not just happening with one guy. Also, I noticed that the correct answer was usually the first choice. It'd be neat if that could be shuffled a bit so we would have to flick around to another button to make the correct guess. Other than that this game is amazing!

. Yes, I have also noticed this issue with the music. Does anyone know how to choose a band?

hey. first I want to thank you for taking the time to come here to announce this new version of the game, I've been playing it on an iPad and having so much fun with it! I've bought the add on to support you, but I needed sighted help for this screen, it's not voiceover friendly, so I recommend fixing it so you can get some money from the blind users! as I'm sure others would enjoy this in app purchase as well since it gives you unlimited lives, so worth every cent.
I'm also having this bug with the song pausing randomly, but as others have pointed out, it seems to happen when we're flicking between the available choices.. It doesn't make the game unplayable, because I'm on level 8 and already unlocked the second mode. btw, I live in Brazil and it's great to play the game in portuguese! :-)
other small issues and suggestions are: the app crashed once when the message saying that I had unlocked the second mode appeared. I just had to open the app again and everything worked fine.
the map screen where you can select what level you want to play are quite slow to navigate with voiceover comparing it to the other screens, maybe it can be optimized a bit. also, sometimes you can't choose a level by flicking to it and double tapping.. you have to flick some more for the screen to change so you can manually find what level you want. otherwise it takes you to the leader board screen.
and the last suggestion is to make the screen where you can review what songs you've played accessible, because right now you can only review the songs when you end a level, and it would be really nice to be able to review it later with voiceover so I can make playlists and download some of the songs I don't have.
sorry for the long post and excuse me, gotta play some more! will give it a 5 star rating right away!

I'm still loving this game, now up to level 21, and rising. I to would like to see the advance to next level screen fixed a bit so we can flick to go to it, when you get into that menu where is says pause and your score, you have to double tap on the score and touch your screen to see the next level button. I'de love this as well as the choppy bit to be fixed. wonderful game over all.

hi, I've noticed sometimes when a song starts you get no audio, and voiceover reads the answers before the song plays, resulting sometimes in a 2 second decision to flick over to the answer you want, and by the time you get their the time has run out. is their any way this can be fixed?

I just downloaded RockOn onto my 5th Generation iPod Touch, but only get as far as the screen with the option to either sign up for an account, or to start playing and sign up later. When I double-tap on the latter option, the app crashes and won't open again. Even uninstalling then reinstalling it doesn't work. Has anyone else noticed this behavior?

Hello everyone,
I would not hold your breath and believe in the staff of Fresh Planet, specifically the Rock On staff. While the Songpop staff completely ignores accessibility, the Rock On staff will not answer support tickets, apparently. When I sent one in, still unanswered, there were 170 tickets in the queue to be answered. I'm not saying this as a blind person who finds the current issues with the game annoying and frustrating, but for a company who takes one game seriously while they leave Rock On in the cold should not be a company to give money to, if any of you have paid for time in the app. I have not.
So, in short, the Songpop staff responded to me in the time I expected to be responded to, which was the first business day that arrived when my ticket was in the queue. In the general section of the Rock On Zendesk community, people have said that they have not received an answer to their support requests. Keep in mind this was 3+ months ago.
I am going to follow up my Songpop support request again, so that they might want to make it accessible. I'm not holding my breath on that either. As far as Rock On, it has been disappointing support service thus far. There's still the rest of the week, but somehow I don't think I'll be getting a response anytime soon. I get the feeling that this is the only accessibility update we'll get, and we should be thankful that we can play. Try playing with a Braille Display though and see how far you get. Not far, I'm sure of it.
So, this is my observations thus far. FreshPlanet cares more about SongPop because it's more popular, makes more money. That's the bottom line. Rock On is their less successful game, yet it is accessible for us. If Songpop would be more accessible, perhaps I'd be playing that now instead.
Enjoy the game, just don't expect any updates fixing any issues.

Hi all, I really appreciate your feedback. I've summed up comments here and reported to our developers and product manager. Since we're a small team, I'm not sure how soon and how fast of the issues will be fixed, but we will do our best to address those issues.

Here I hope I can answer some of your questions. For the SongPop accessibility, the game is built in different technology and the size of the game is very big compare to RockOn, so it's harder for the team to make it accessible. As far as I know the team doesn't have a plan to make it accessible at the moment, but hey! who knows!

I've heard some blind & low-vision users are able to play the game on Facebook. mean time, you guys can check that out, here is the link: https://apps.facebook.com/songpop/

@Orinks: I'm sorry that you haven't heard back from us about your request, unfortunately, we have been short on a supporting tickets staff, I believe our product manager is finally going through the tickets now, hope he can get to your tickets soon!

thank you again for all your feedback!

On an iPhone 4s with iOS 9.1.2 and VoiceOver it crashes. Also the sound is very choppy when flicking through the answer options, as others stated before.
