Help withHadean Lands text adventure.

Hi there,
I recently downloaded Hadean Lands by Andrew Plotkin, it’s a text adventure game like Zork or adventure.
For the most part it is very accessible but there is one problem, whenever I type a command into the prompt and press enter, VoiceOver won’t automatically read out the next sentence to me I have to navigate around the app myself to find it.
This isn’t a problem in the Frotz app, which is another app used to play text adventure games but in this particular app it is an issue.
I was just wondering if anyone has played this game before or has any ideas as to settings I can change?
