games I can play with my sighted

Just wondering what good games are out there that are accessible, but that my sighted nieces would also have fun playing, so we could compete. I already know they’re not going to be interested in text based games, but they certainly wouldn’t go for just straight audio games either. They would probably find both of those options very boring. They tend to like things like roadblocks and stuff like that, I believe. I just think it would be cool if there are any mainstream games out there that also happen to be accessible. Thanks in advance for your ideas.

My son and I've enjoyed Dice world. Maybe Battle Fruits which is a battle ship type game with a two-player mode.

Really, just rummage around in the games section for multi-player stuff, there's some card games and board games that'll probably work. It doesn't have to be stuff they're into like Roblox - that's tricky - it just has to be something you can play and laugh with together.

Also, if they're up for it, sit in on them when they're playing games. Get them to tell you about the sort of things they're doing. Do a little bit of research on the games yourself so you have something intelligent to say. Help find them walkthroughs or videos. Just generally be involved. It worked with my son, anyway

My sister has split custody so one week they're with her, the other week they're with their dad. They both have iPhones and iPads, so looking for stuff we can play when they're at their dad's and I don't get ("to see them for a week. We message, but thought it would be neat if there is a game we can all play together, but from our individual devices during that time.

Hello,
Remember a while back when I spoke about WePlay Game and Party? This has several games in it like Mike Grab where you sing a song you know based on a piece someone else sang before. However, this is a total flop with VoiceOver as you can't actually activate direct touch; the screen reader doesn't speak at all; and the game itself ... I don't think it's appropriate for little kids--too much cussing and all, so sorry I tried recommending it in the first place. Plus, there are about six players in the room beside yourself, and you need to grab the mike fast--not easy to do when VoiceOver won't work properly--in order to start singing. it's good for those who can see, though, but for someone who cannot ... big fat joke!

although it's a single player game, you can share tips, strategy, list of cards that work for certain builds. and it has awesome graphics

Hello,
How do you get by with going into the mountains for Blackbox? I played this/tried too several years ago. however, when I literally had to go into some mountains, I guess, I couldn't of course/none around my current location.

Hello,
Without any new games in the Dusk bundle, it gets boring over time. However, that and the fact that the pingpong rallies stop too soon if you're not on the ball ... literally ... and keeping your rhythm. Yet, when it works well, you can get a descend workout while Apple watch is on.

Hello,
I suppose so, but why pay that expense if the person doesn't like the game in the first place? That's neither here or there, but what do we do if we can't physically go into the say Colorado Rockies or something like that? Maybe, there are parts where you have to go near a volcano, you think? I mean, it would teach the kids geology and stuff, but they can get that by learning Sonar Islands, or is that just a blineness-specific game? one of my own sighted friends played it a bit, and they said there were still lines on the phone scrween--I guess you could follow them if you can see? However, that totally defeats the purpose of playing blindfully, right?

I think Sonar Islands is just an audio game. Really anyone can play it, it just caters to the visually impaired as it is audio-based.

As for Blackbox, I don't think you necessarily need a mountain. I would imagine if you have access to a high-rise building, that would suffice. Something like a hospital, apartment building, etc. 🤷🏼‍♂️

If I were ever to pick up Blackbox again, how would I bipass these higher places for that puzzle, and if there were a way to skip it, would it impact the rest of the game? I really liked this in terms of its haptic and audio feedback features. Maybe, Jessy has more information about getting past those mountains/I like his Youtube videos for iPhone content/accessable game reviews. I could actually listen to that man for hours/think he would be a great narrator haha!

Yeah his videos are informative, and pretty detailed. I don't know if I could listen to him all day, though. There are times where I find my self yelling at the screen for him to just get on with the review. . .

The man is a bit chatty. That's all I'm saying. 😇

Btw, here is his Blackbox Review.
