Hi everyone,
I’ve always preferred reading with my braille display instead of listening to VoiceOver speech, but I’ve run into a problem that’s become more noticeable as more developers use Unity for their iOS games.
Unity’s accessibility plug-in has been great for opening doors to accessible gaming, but it comes with one big drawback for those of us who prefer braille. These Unity-based games usually require direct touch gestures like swiping and double tapping on the screen. My braille display will show what VoiceOver is reading, but I can’t actually navigate or activate anything directly from the display.
For someone who relies on braille rather than speech, this makes playing much slower and less enjoyable. I’m wondering if anyone here has found a workaround for this, or knows of a setting or technique that might help braille users interact with Unity apps more smoothly.
Thanks in advance for any ideas or tips!

Hello, I have the same question and looking forward to available solutions.
I'd love a grate solution too, but
I've been cut off from so many games because I depend on braille. I cannot reliably use speech. Imagine my disappointment when a game I loved playing for years, 7 Little Words, also went with this audist platform. I reached out to the developers, but they said they're not going back since it integrates Android and iOS at the same time, but did give what I would consider an honest appology. I mean, the best appologies are those which are communicated based on action, but it's clear developers who use this platform don't have interest in going back. I'm so glad some developers have not cut DeafBlind and other braille users off from using their games. Gere's looking at you, Dice World! Thank you for not breaking this app! I'ts awesome when you find developers who aren't audist.
