My sister’s birthday is coming up on 10 days. I want to give her a gift for her birthday. She’s turning 17. I want to see about getting her some AirPods or something. The only issue is she has a galaxy S 23. Will AirPods work with android phone? I already have my own hair Have AirPods second-generation devices from 2019, but I want to know if the work with android devices, if I get her, another pair.

But I also think that it’s better to wait and see what Brian or Andy have to say on this one.

For sure, I’ll wait and see if they ever respond

They do not. You will need to get galaxy or google made. If you can wait until Thanksgiving check amazon for their prime deals on them.

They are literally and earphones they should work

Perhaps! If she has an android get a device made for it instead of using an apple. Again check amazon. It may work well or not but you do not want to take the chance it may not, and she be unhappy.

Disclaimer: I wouldn't mix anything Apple with anything Android. But hey, do you.

This is a short video showing someone with a Samsung Galaxy S 23 Ultra connecting a pair of Apple AirPods via Bluetooth. It is very straightforward. Link below.

You'll be able to use them as a pair of earphones, however the automatic play/pause and Siri integration won't work.
I'd personally recommend something like the galaxy buds if its for a samsung phone.
If you think of it the other way round it isn't something you'd do, for example buying samsung earphones for apple devices.
Anyway, I'm pretty sure you've mentioned you use android before Anyway? If you have airpods, why not give them a try from your android devices.

I'd recommend other headphones. I don't know what ones though but I'd not mix apple with Android, I don't think all the functions will work.

You could try raycons, they do have a 30 day back garentee, I wasn't a fan of them though and had to send them back.

Honestly if it were me, I'd just give her money and let her buy what she wants, that's what I prefer that way I can't get disappointed.

Sony earphones, they have great audio quality as well. I’ve had a few voice messages using those headphones and they’re really good.

Sony make good earbuds and headsets. I used to own a pair of Sony neckband style bluetooth earbuds. They had amazing sound for about $25 US from good ole Walmart.

They will absolutely work. This is my own experience. However, this will limit the functionality of the AirPods. I recommend that you get her one of Samsung's buds, like the Buds Live or Buds Pro. The reason is you need to have the best intuitive experience.
Good luck, and very happy birthday to her!

My motto is, match the brand. There is only a certain type of key that fits into a certain type of door. Same concept here. Apple AirPods plus Android device equals limited functionality. My brother recently shattered his iPhone 11, and is borrowing my old Google Pixel 4A. Let's just say, AirPods aren't AirPods with other devices, they are just a standard set of earbuds.
But as others said, you do you. However, if you really want to be respectful to your sister, she would be much happier if you got her something compatible, and not just something you want to get her just because you prefer it. You're the one with the Apple device, not her.
Get her some Galaxy buds, something way more compatible with her phone. She will be much happier.
