I think the best of th ones you listed would be the SE 2020, but it probably won't be good for long. If you can get something newer that will be supported for longer that would be ideal. If cost is an issue the SE 3 that came out in 2022 would be better.

While it may not have best battery life. It is the newest of the phones.

I may be biased, as I currently use an iPhone SE2, but yeah I would go with the SE2 over the other choices you listed. However, to give you a more informed oppinion, check out the link below. It compares the XS and the SE2.

Finally, if you "could" get a SE3, that would be even better; 5G capability, A15 Bionic Chip compared to the SE2's A13 Bionic Chip, and 4gb of Ram over SE2's 3gb of Ram.

I need one is good battery life. So which one out of those three have the best life

By Brian on Friday, November 24, 2023 - 03:29

There are YouTube videos comparing the XS and SE2, and what it boils down to is your use case. Both have good batteries regardless of their size differences. XS seems to have a better standby time, where the SE2 seems to have a better active use time.

So, I will stick to my previous comment; get the SE2. However, if you really, really want that XS, while it is an older phone (2018), you could do worse.

1 how long it will be supported with iOS! 2 battery. You want a phone that will be around for severl years and you be able to update to current iOS. If I recall the 8 is no longer supported with current iOS. If wrong someone let me know.

Simply because it's the latest and will run for the longest time.

An iphone can last you 2 or more days now, depending on what you're doing.

The thing is most of those new iPhones have designs which I don’t like at all, such as more, squared cornice animal supply size unlock the iPhone 11 earlier so I don’t know to be fair. I could probably use my mums iPhone SE, but at the same time I don’t know

The iPhone SE2 and the iPhone 8 are virtually identical in design. The only one that stands out of the 3 you have to choose from is, ironically, the only one without a 'Home' button. The SE2 really would be a great phone for you. Weren't you on an iPhone 6 before? If so, the SE2 will feel more comfortable and familiar to you than the bulky XS.

Any device before the iPhone 12 I can hand. Which means the iPhone SE 2020 iPhone SE 2022 iPhone 11 Pro Max iPhone 11 Pro iPhone 11 iPhone XR iPhone XS Max iPhone XS iPhone X iPhone 8 Plus iPhone 8 iPhone 7 Plus iPhone 7 iPhone 6s Plus. Yes ask pass the iPhone SE 2016, because it has the same size as the iPhone 12th the iPhone 6 Plus the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6 all those devices are perfect for me. Also I didn’t are used to have an iPhone 6. They also have an iPhone 6s and an iPhone 6s Plus and iPhone 7. I am going to talk about the iPhone 6s Plus in a later problem as the iPhone 6s Plus I had is most likely close to death

Why only those three iPhones as options? Is it because you would be getting the phone second hand? Nothing wrong with that, plenty of people pass down their older iPhones when they upgrade.

If your main concern is battery life and you like the older rounded design, why not go for an iPhone 11? The phones with the bigger screens have bigger batteries and thus longer battery life. However, some people, myself included, don't like the width of the bigger phones. I use to call my old XR my poptart phone because it reminded me of eating a poptart. Despite that, I do kinda miss the battery life even though I have a mag safe battery pack for my 12 mini.

Also think about what you will be using the iPhone for. Are you mostly looking for something to do texting and maybe things like light web browsing when you're not using another device? Or are you more like I am and your phone is your only do-everything device? I've been all iPhone since about mid 2017 because I can get by doing almost all of what I do using it. That said, I am toying with the idea of getting an iPad to supplement my phone and to play around with swift playgrounds, but that's another topic.

I upgraded from an iPhone 8 to the iPhone SE 2022 and assure you that they're physically identical, even to the point that I'm using the same case as I used for my iPhone 8. So, if the iPhone SE 2022 is an option, that's definitely the phone I'd recommend. Otherwise, I'd go with the iPhone SE 2020.

I generally get 2 days between charges -- I put it on the charger every other night. That's slightly better battery life than I got with my iPhone 8.

Hey everyone, I just came back from class so that’s why I haven’t been replying as quick as I usually would From my iPhone I’ll be using Facebook writing messages FaceTime love browsing, watching YouTube and TikTok. Maybe using a bit of discord, WhatsApp and navigation app and reading and responding to emails and listening to music

So you will use your iPhone the way most of the world uses their iPhone. Rock on, brother, rock on.

Anyways, for longevity sake, out of the 3 phones you mentioned in your original post, the SE2 really is your best bet. And as I said before, there is no real reason to get the XS unless you really, really want the XS.

Plus, there is nothing more amusing than having your iPhone in your pocket, putting your hand in your pocket to navigate the display, while wearing a pair of earbuds. TouchID > FaceID. Hands down. 👌🏼

By Dominic on Friday, November 24, 2023 - 03:29

Touch ID equals peace, Face ID equals disaster, none equals apocalypse, passcode equals hard work, no passcode = destruction! That is my guy right there

By Brian on Friday, November 24, 2023 - 03:29

The most secure device in the world will be one where you have to lick the screen to unlock it.

Because absolutely nobody wants your cooties, no one will ever try to unlock your device.

Ever.

True story.

Do not get why some people have issue with change. I had been using face ID since my x s phone and 11 pro max, 12 pro and now 13 pro. No issues with it. Change is good.

People flip out when the headphone jack went, now the home button's gone. Just one less thing for crap to get into. Also, Brian, tongue prints are as diverse as fingerprints, and not sure but pretty sure a tongue and fingerprint match. Don't even ask... ;)

Disclaimer: I am going to hell for that subject line.

Regarding TouchID vs FaceID. TouchID has a lot more symatry for the blind. My 2 cents, but whatever. Also, there are a lot more use case scenarios where I personally felt good to have access to TouchID over FaceID.

Now ideally, iPhone would have both. There is absolutely no reason why Apple cannot do this, but again, Apple, do you.

Regarding the headphone jack, I think people were more annoyed they had to use a specific type of plug, for a port that did not exist (at the time, mind you) anywhere else. Again, my 2 cents.

Finally and in keeping with the OP topic, the SE2 will last the longest of the 3 iPhones mentioned above in regards to Apple support.
