So I'm currently on an iPhone Xr. I'm due for an upgrade. What will I be getting when I go to a 12 or 13? I know I can expect a better camera and processor but are there any other features of the phones that would make accessibility any better? Has there been anything that takes advantage of the lidar sensor yet?

Well the photo discription when you point your camera to a picture or a image near a place. It will show you what is there and if there is a number you can call. Not sure if your phone can do so. Regarding light nothing yet. Battery last long. If you can wait, get the 14 in September.

Is not a rumor. Those who are testing the beta report that that feature is not in the 11 at this time. Only in the 12 and 13 so far.

And purchase 14 pro max it would be a very bombic device.
But to be frank... if you are blind so why do you want to upgrade?
Ah I see you have much money.
Then the first dropped lines just for you.
Cheers!

The reason why I'm upgrading is my phone's gotten slow and the battery's not as good as it used to be.

Certainly it is just my opinion!
you can purchase any device.
In fact there is no sense to pay for a unresonably @cheaf@ iPhone!
Cheers!

I upgraded to an iPhone 13 Mini from an iPhone 8 a few months ago. The battery life of the 13 Mini isn't exceptional but is more than adequate for moderate daily use with screen curtain on and the newer image description features are really nice. I also like the smaller size as I have smaller hands but it can be a little cramped for some people especially those who have larger hands and use Braille screen input. If you can, try replacing your iPhone XR battery at an Apple store and see if you can get a few more years of life out of it; I had the battery of my iPhone 8 replaced twice before I upgraded which helps limit e-waste.

It would be cheaper than a new phone, and I'd think that as long as your phone has the new features, you should be OK for a while more. Personally, I'd get a new battery and wait for a year or so.
