Hello all. I am new to the applevis website, but have been browsing and gaining a lot of knowledge from this site for a number of years. I recently came across a strange issue while using my iPhone 5C and my apple bluetooth keyboard. I am unable to type in any edit field, whether in safari, an iMessage or text message. I can use the onscreen keyboard just fine, but my bluetooth keyboard does nothing. I can use all other navigation commands with no trouble, however. I have reset the phone a number of times, replaced the batteries in the keyboard, all to no avail. I hope someone here will be able to give me some suggestions as to what is going on, as this is an issue which just started tonight and is quite frustrating. Thank you all for your time and consideration.

Hi I have the same keyboard. two things, one, try hitting quick nav. even if it says on, type, if nothing, push it again. If you don't know what that is,it's left and right arrows together. Also when you're ready to type, for the heck of it, push the up and down arrows, it will say something like message, insersion point at end. The last thing and someone showed me this. Try voice over keys,t hat's control option on the left hand side, plus the space bar. It should make a sound, then try to type. if nothing, try what i've suggested.

hi, I actually had the same problem with my Bluetooth keyboard two days ago.
the work around I found for this:
after connecting the keyboard to your Iphone, turn off the keyboard. then, lock the screen, and turn it back on while the screen is locked.
that worked for me, hope this helps
