Hi all,
wondering if anyone is using a synology or QNAP NAS with Mac or iOS? I need to purchase a NAS and am wondering which is better in terms of accessibility. Synology has some good documentation on their site but it's very much windows-based as it suggests a set-up based on NVDA.
thanks for any information.

Re: it was a couple of years
thanks for the input. I have an old Synology NAS here but the processor, disks and everything associated with it are dated now. Going to use the new one for streaming content throughout the home, and also for storage. I haven't ruled out getting one of those NUC machines and building a small server but just not sure I could be bothered.
Custom NAS
If you're comfortable, I'd recommend building your own NAS with a Linux distro like Debian Server. You can install Samba and configure software RAID if you have several drives. You should be able to access your network share from a Mac via the Finder. This way, you have full control over everything, and don't have to worry about products becoming EOL or having inaccessible interfaces.
Thanks for the input
Great feedback all, thanks very much.
