Hi all.

I’ve been having problems with my apple airpods in that sometimes they do nothing when i put them in my ears after restarting my ipad and sometimes they won’t charge propperly. In that the case says it hasn’t charged when i have had it plugged in. For example, i charged them yesterday and when they were on the charger, the case was at 100 percent but now it is only at 37 percent. They are the first generation of airpods and they are only 9 months old.

Does anyone else have this problem? Thanks.

My left airpod stopped working completely a while ago. I don't know if its not charging or what, but there where some months old, about 5 or so. Its odd though

AirPods can develop battery problems over time, but I wouldn’t of expected AirPods this new to be having these just yet. In fact, I would expect AirPods this new to still be under warranty. If so, you may want to contact Apple about it. My second generation AirPods are being replaced under warranty, because the right one stopped working about a month after I got them.

Hello,

I didn’t realize that this is an older post, but regardless of the time or model/version of the AirPods, I am having the same issues.

I currently have the AirPod Pro 1st and 2nd generations, and I find that the microphones on both are crappy after some time of use. When talking to family and friends, I can’t use my AirPod Pro first generation ones because no matter which side I use, the audio for others is muffled. However, with the Pros 2, I can only use my right earbud. The right earbud has the better quality of sound when on meetings or regular phone calls.

As for the charging issue, it hasn’t necessarily changed. The charging on both cases die really quickly, and I’m trying to find a really great pair of generic AirPods. It’s tiring having to take out my AirPods when talking to someone on the phone. So, this post may have been created 4 years ago, but honestly, I’m still having a lot of problems with newer generations of AirPods myself.

Hello,
I haven’t had this issue with the Airpods, but I do have problems with them just dropping out sometimes. For example, I’ll be listening to something, and audio will just drop for a few seconds, then come back. Rather annoying. Also, on phone calls, will get robotic voice here and there. What I mean is that the other person’s voice starts sounding very robotic very suddenly, lasts for a few seconds, then goes back to normal. At the same time, I sound the same to the caller. Definitely some very frustrating issues as expensive as these things are. As great as Apple products usually are, not sure what’s going on with these, as they haven’t gotten any better. I’ve had this issue for months!

There might be debris inside the case where you slide the AirPods in. You might have to clean them. You might have to take them to the Apple Store to get them replaced. Either way, there’s no software solution here. You can buy a little scrub brush on Amazon for AirPods that’s like for five dollars. Sometimes blowing into them helps dislodge the debris. If the case itself isn’t charging, then there’s probably a need to take them to the Apple Store anyway.
