Hi guys.
I hope this is the right place to post this.
Anyway, I've been using Iphones since 2014 starting with the iphone 4, then the iphone 5s, then the 8.
I then switched to android for a time and got myself an Iphone 6s at the end of last year.
I've never used an Iphone without a home button for an extended period of time, but I've managed to get pretty comfortable with the way that going home and accessing the app switcher works on an Iphone without a home button and with the little time I had with one.
Does anyone have any tips or advice?
Thanks.

Me too.
Hi Tetris, As a matter of fact, I am going to upgrade from the eight to a 12 this Monday. So I too am leaving the home button! I look forward to any advice. I will choose either the 12 or 12 mini.
12 pro
Got the 12 pro. It works well with face ID. Suggest you check the podcast from AppleVis on setting on face ID. If you can wait, next year the iPhone will have finger print. Maybe this year but probably not.
Good luck
Good luck.
I might upgrade next week too, but we'll just have to see.
I have both options
Hi,
I have an iPhone 8 for work and an iPhone 11 for personal use. I'm so used to not having a home button now that on the 8 I sometimes forget the home button still exists and I try gestures that don't work. However, what I have done is on the 11 is set up personalised gestures to get to the app switcher and home. I also have set up gestures for control and notification centre. I've also found out by accident that if you set up a personalised home gesture then on the lock screen you can unlock the screen with that gesture without having to use the apple set slide up option. So, I almost guarantee that whilst people are different after a few days you will honestly forget the home button ever existed. Personalised gestures are a brilliant option to help with this.
hth.
I have the iPhone 12…
I have the iPhone 12. Battery is not that good, I am not saying it is bad, still I was getting much longer time with my XS Max. So if battery matters to you, then you may need to get some sort of battery pack with the 12.
at this point, probably better to Wait for iPhone 13
iPhone 13 is a couple of months away at this point. Maybe worth the wait
Custom gestures.
Hello Lee,
Thanks for that tip. I will find the podcast here again on how to make customized gestures and use your suggestions.
Podcast on face ID and iphone 13
Could someone please link to the podcast about face ID and any other relevant podcasts that could help?
As for iphone 13, why? What makes iphone 13 so special, if I can put it that way?
Since I won't be buying the phone, I'll be getting it on a contract which would be a lot more expensive if I were to go for the 13 when it comes out.
iPhone 12
Hi, congratulate on your new iPhone. I have an iPhone Mini and I am happy with that. I got use to iPhone without a Home button without problems. it's hard to getting use to Faice Id, but today I can't go back.
iPhone 12 Mini.
Well, I said good bye to my home button yesterday. Got the iPone Mini. It took a little while. but I got used to the jestures to unlock the phone and the app switcher. But other than that, no problems with the new phone. This phone may be mini but it sounds mighty and clear. I am so pleased with it and highly recommend this phone! Also, thanks to Dave Mason, I was able to set up my face ID.
Battery
Just to let you know, you might need to get a smart case charger. Mini battery is not that good, this is why is not coming back this year.
