Midi keyboards? and Apple Devices?

I'm a podcaster and a sound designer and I am interested in purchasing a midi keyboard that I can use to manipulate samples. Does anyone have any experience with Midi keyboard hardware, or software? Whats accessible and what should I take into consideration? The ability to control and manipulate any audio that I create, is the main function that I am interested in. I use my mac for all of my audio editing, and it would be very much preferred if the keyboard worked with some app on OS X. I might consider interfacing with an IOS device, if I have no other options, but I hope that won't be the case. Thanks for any feedback.

Hello,

I have an M Audio 88 keys midi keyboard. I use a camera connection kit to connect it to my Ipad. On the iPad, I can use it with iGrand Piano and Garage Band. I’m sure it will work with other apps as well as on the Mac but I haven’t treid.

HTH and good luck.

Hello. I'm just learning what's possible in terms of recording on the iPhone, and was wondering if anyone is using a midi keyboard with the apps mentioned above? If so, do you connect it through a camera connection kit, or in some other way? Also, is there a manual somewhere for Gig Daddy that I'm missing? It's so accessible, but I can find nothing online with a detailed description of its features. Probably under my nose, and I'm missing it. Thanks!

I heard and have used the edirol midi controler. Note I don't think this is the same as a midi keyboard as such. But at the time in 2005 it worked quite well. If edirol still makes those try one.

I have a Komplete Kontrol !61 from native Instruments. It works quite well. I wonder if it would work as an IOS MIDI keyboard. It's connected via USB, so one would expect with the proper connections it just might.

I have a Roland Quad Capture audio interface, to Sampson studio monitors, and a Roland. A500Pro MIDI keyboard. It all works with Logic very well. Logic is pretty easy to use and there's an email list called Logic Accessible or something similar.
