Hello abbl. As the subject line of this post indicates, I might need hearing aids sooner rather than later. Have is how I found myself in what is now a very scary situation. Last week my Bluetooth speaker had somehow gotten into pairing mode and paired with my computer. As a result, I got a blast of sound directly into my left ear. That resulted in a sudden hearing loss that scared the living daylights out of me. Things have improoved, but my hearing isn't back to where it was before that happened. I can hear but certain sounds, such as voicover and Jaws come out sounding very muffled and dissorted. I can still use my phone but only because I've paired it with my Braille note touch plus. In fact, I'm using the Braille note touch plus to write this post since using the computer is rather difficult now. On Modday, I went to the urgent care, hoping to get some answers or at the very least a hearing test to ifirm my worst fears, that I now hdeal ta hearing loss or put those fears to rest. The doctor So saw dt the urgent care said that based on the hearing loss, she felt that a hearing test is necessary. That was set up, but it is still two really long weeks away. Based on the result of the test, I'm afraid that I'll need to start using hearing aids. What hearing aids brands should I start looking at for the following featuffes? More features can be added to the list, but here are the ones I have in mind now. Pairing the hearing aids with my phone and computer if possible. How easy the hearing aids are to set up and program as needed. And how easy is the Iphone asp for the gearing aids brthes for a voiceover user. If anybody can help me out so I have an ide of what to bring to the table if I do need hearing aids, I would be greatful. Thanks in addvance.

Your audiologist will determine that based on your hearing needs, and may also take into account any funding entitlement. I'm a new hearing aid user and find they work very well when paired with my iPhone. Most come with an app which will, in theory, allow you to make adjustments. In practice, however, many of these aps appear less than accesible. HTH
