Hello everyone, I have just joined this forum as a completely blind user of an apple iPhone 6.
I bought an old model of the apple wireless keyboard in 2013 - you know the ones with the circular power button? As I am blind, I fully rely on VoiceOver to access my iPhone, and typing on it is not my strong point. So I bought the keyboard. Ever since I began using iOS 9, I have had some issues where the keyboard is connected, but when I enter a text field, it does not type, and just makes the sort of beeping noise as when you enter an in-accessable app. It's not the same issue as where it does type, but doesn't give feedback although I do regularly encounter that one as well.
I was just wondering if anyone else has/had this issue and how you fixed it? Would updating to iOS 9.3.1 help with it?
Thank you for any responses in advance.
Elle.

Same here, but try this
Hello,
I have had the same problem with my first generation Apple bluetooth keyboard since iOS 9. Usually turning Voiceover off and then back on again (using triple Home click) fixes the problem. Occasionally I have to turn the keyboard off and on again.

Agostino
I tried this just minutes ago
I tried this just minutes ago and can confirm that it did not have an affect on the problem
QuickNav
Have you tried making sure quicknav is turned off when this happens? Sometimes, toggling it on and off again will also help. I've not seen this specific issue, so can't think of any other things to try.
Hello there, I will
Hello there, I will definitely try this next time. It used to be that it would have to be turned off to type. But at the moment it's turned on so not the same issue as before. I'll update and let know if this works. Thanks. E.
