Hello all! I have decided to go with an iPhone 7, but however, I'm now trying to decide on which storage option should I get. I don't take a lot of photos, and I have a total of 10 apps, with mor probably going to be added in the future. so, in a nutshell, which storage option should I get? 32, 128, or 256? Thanks for your help.

Go for 128. You may find yourself doing more and more with your phone so it's always good to have a little more storage than you think you'll need. I checked my storage usage the other day and I'm down to 8gb free on my 64gb SE. Probably time to reinstall apps to get rid of their ridiculous cache size (DiceWorld, I'm looking at you). Storage is like money: there's no such thing as enough.

Remember, cost is going to be a big factor when it comes to storage, so keep that in mind. I have a 32 gig iPhone 7 and have had no trouble running out of room. If I download a book from Bard mobile or audible, I delete it when i'm done with it and I get that space back. If I'm not using an app, why keep it around? I think 32 is a nice capacity. The only way I would ever recommend 128 or 256 is if you take a lot of 4k video or live photos, and you probably don't. So, yeah, 32 should be fine.

I'm having issues with storage on my ipad & I delete audio books & kindle books too. Part of it I think is that I download photos of memes onto my ipad so that I can upload them to Braigo, but I delete them too! I wish you could put flash drives in it. That'd make life easier for me! This is why I'm telling you, to go as big as you can go. Go as big as your budget permits you to. While you can delete bard & audible books after reading, in my opinion, it's always a good idea to have as much space as possible. If you can go 32 then go for it, but if you can go for 128 or even better 256 then DO IT!

Music and gps are factors as well.
Remember that you might want to start using things like google maps, or maybe another solution. It seems as though you might be new to the phone. Trust me, once you realize how good they are, you will wish for a bigger option. Also when seling, the larger storage gets you more money. Just a point to consider. I know cost is a factor, and if you can wait, when the iPhone eight comes out, you might get the seven a bit cheaper.

To the previous poster, I'm not interested in the 8, besides, I have lots of music on my iPod nano, and I'm now using my phone for voice/social media communication. so in a nutshell, the 32 GB should serve me well, or the 128, however, it is expensive. unless you trade in your old phone for a new one.
get what you can afford
Ever thought that a hard drive is huge and that it won't get filled up, then found that you had been wrong? iPhones aren't expandable. Consider how long you plan to wait before getting a newer phone. The longer it will be, the more space you may need. I got the 256 gig iPhone 7 plus for this reason. I know I won't run out of space. To me, the budget is the determining factor, so get the most that you can afford.
Purchase The Maximum Memory Your Budget Will Allow
The reason for this is pretty clear. The more storage you purchase now, the longer it will be before purchasing a new iPhone. As many other posters have stated, the more the better. Personally, I always go for the maximum memory available. Better to have too much than not enough.
Will be going to the ATT store
To the previous poster, I will be going to the ATT store to check out the iPhone 7 tomorrow, hopefully if I don't have any plands. Since ATT has helped me before, they will most likely help me again with the options, as well as pick a deal, if one is currently active. Because, for example, to get the iPhone 7 32GB, you would pay $649.99. dang, that's expensive, but hopefully they will have a deal for a traid-in. I had my phone for 3 total yearss, and it still works. The only reason why I want an iPhone 7 is not just for the stereo speakers, but for the microphone sound quality.

Just to add to it a bit, the iPhone 7 is exactly the same size as the 6. I don't use the plus models as the screen is just a bit too big for my use case, but i'm almost certain they're the same as the plus models i.e. the 6 plus is the same size as the 7 plus. So, if you're going from a 5 to a 7 you'll need to buy a new case, and you may also want to invest in a screen protector. You never know when something might get spilled on it, and in that case all you need to do is lift off the screen protector, put a new one on and you're off and running again.

Good point. that's why I go with the otterbox case with a screen protecter. I should also get the mophie juce pack air, but I think the battery inside the phone is much longer, so I'm thinking I don't need an external battery pack case for the iPhone 7, or not, maybe? just curious. I could just go with the otterbox screen protecter case since it comes with a screen protecter built-in, vs. purchasing a screen protecter and case sepret would caust extra money. They say money doesn't grow off trees, you know.

In reply to @ToonHead thanks for the recommendation. yeah, I don't take a lot of photos, not even 4K videos, so 32 GB is enough. I had a 32 GB iPod Touch, and I had plenty of room for all of my apps. This was running on iOS 6, and I've also discovered the Zello app, before moving it onto my iPhone. now, it's a thing in the past. Man, it semes like Apple is coming out with new Phones every year, and with new phones, the prices go up.

I bought my iPhone 7 in October and paid $100 more than the base price so I could have four times the storage. Besides needing storage for talking books and music, apps are getting bigger. The Nearby Explorer GPS app downloads all maps in the United States and Canada onto your iPhone. It will take about five gigs of storage. It also can download the exact location of bus stops and transit times. You can then receive turn by turn walking directions to a bus stop. The transit information for my transit agency here in Chicago was 650 Mb. The benefit of Nearby Explorer and apps like it is that someone does not need a continuous data connection to use the map information. The data is on your device. App developers are taking advantage of the additional storage in new iPhones. Getting a 32 GB iPhone could prevent taking advantage of storage heavy apps in the future like Nearby Explorer.
I bought my iPhone unlocked from the Apple store because it has the technology to work with all four national carriers. When people buy iPhones from AT&T or T-Mobile, these iPhones will work only on GSM carriers and not Sprint or Verizon. Since the iPhone costs the same wherever you buy it, consider getting the iPhone version that has the technology to support all four carriers. Personally, I like having the maximum flexibility in the technology I buy.
