Going from iPhone 6s to second generation SE

I currently have a iPhone 6s. I have been very happy with it. In fact, I replaced the battery almost a year ago so I could keep going with it. However, I have been noticing a little sluggishness, enough to be a bit annoying at times, and so I am considering a new phone. I have been considering a second generation iPhone SE. I like the fact that it retains the home button and finger print ID. However, I was waiting until they squashed the VO sluggishness bug in IOS 14, as I figured that, even with a new phone, I might not see much improvement in VO performance until then. Now, with the release of IOS 14.1, it looks like they have squashed that bug and so I am actively considering the SE. I would like to hear from someone who has gone from a 6s to a 11 or SE, something with a A13 chip. What kind of general performance increase did you get and especially what kind of performance increase did you get with VO?

If you like touch id and finger print go with the SE. Yes it will have a small battery. That is true with any apple phones. Compare iPhone batteries to Android and Androids have bigger batterys. You can get an android with a 5000 milliamp battery you can't find this on a iPhone. I can't see in paying $1200 or $1500 for just a 3600 mmilliamp battery.

It is true that I could get a bigger battery with a Android device but there is no question that I will be sticking with a iPhone. I am fine with having a smaller battery to stay in the Apple ecosystem. Overall performance and Voice Over performance are much more important to me than battery life. I could get a iPhone 11 or 12 in order to stay with a iPhone and get better battery life but I don't have need of extremely long battery life, especially with the new iPhones supporting fast charging. As long as it will do at least as well as my 6s with battery life, then I will be happy with the battery. My main concern is VO responsiveness. Anything more than the SE isn't in the budget right now and, even if it were, I prefer fingerprint ID to face ID. Really, my question is do I upgrade to the SE or stick with my 6s for now. I think that $400 to $550 is a good deal for what you get with the second gen SE but I don't want to spend even that, if I will not get a very significant boost in performance. The difference in specs between the 6s and SE is very impressive but differences in specs don't always translate into big differences in real world performance. So, I'm trying to get a feel for what kind of performance difference I could reasonably expect.

I moved to the iPhone XR which is pretty darn close. At the time I was running IOS 12 on my 6S Plus which I'd had a few years by then. Now that the XR has been out for a couple years and a couple upgrades it is still much better than the iPhone 6S was in terms of speed and voiceover lag. I still miss my 6Ss headphone jack and finger print reader, but everything else was worth the sitch.
