For those of you who have these and use VoiceOver, I have a question or two.
First, if you have them paired and are only using them through the day for VO, do they turn off? If they time out to save power and come back on when your phone starts speaking, I am fine with that. I just don't want to have to turn them on whenever I check my phone.
Second, and I realize this is subjective depending on how much you use your phone, if you're not using them for music but only for VO, how long will the battery last? I would hope to get more than the five hours suggested in the product description out of it.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Bose Frames
I have the Bose frames and I use them regularly. You can set how long the Bose Frames will stay on using the Bose Connect app. I have mine set to 40 minutes. On the app, you open settings and select Standby to pick a time interval. You can choose "Never" if you want them to stay on. Once the glasses go into standby mode, I believe you have to turn them on again to have phone audio route through them.
I'm not sure about the battery life, but if you are only using them for Voiceover and not for phone calls, you should get the maximum time.
Hope this helps.
re: Bose Frames
How easy is it to hear voiceOver through them in a crowded area? Is it better than holding your phone next to your head?
Bose Tempo
Hi,
I have a pair of Bose Frames Tempo, and love them.
The sporty styling is somewhat aggressive, so may not be suitable for every occasion. The standard lenses are mirrored, so I had an Optometrist make alternate dark lenses for the Frames to tone down their styling.
I use them for VO only, and battery life is never an issue. I believe that with the Tempo you will easily reach your 5 hour minimum VO target with plenty of battery life to spare.
I take mine away for a long weekend and get by without the need to charge, but it will depend heavily on your phone usage.
Also, i have noticed that music does hurt the battery more than simple VO.
With regards to working in a noisy environment, it is doable but obviously less clear than an in ear device. Extremely noisy spaces, such as a train platform, cupping your hand over the speaker and your ear increases audio a lot. Obviously, this is a temporary fix and is not always possible or appropriate.
I have used my Bose Frames Tempo to listen to music on a long haul flight. To overcome the background noise of the plane, the volume was set quite high, but noise leakage from the Frames was acceptable to those in neighbouring seats.

Do they work well if on top of your head?
Hi, since these sunglasses were released I’ve always wondered if they work well, can be heard and don’t go to sleep if you put them on the top of your head? When I go indoors I usually either put glasses on my head or fold them and hook them over my shirt, I assume they’ll go to sleep if I fold them but I imagine I’d be able to hear them almost as well on my head as on my face. Anyone able to comment if this will work or if they use them in that way?
