Apple Hardware and Compatible Accessories
Hello all,
I have been an iPhone user for 3 years, and I also use a 2009 MacBook Pro. I'm having trouble getting my bluetooth accessories, which work perfectly with my iPhone, to have a smooth relationship with my Macbook.
There are two devices that are giving me technical difficulties. The first is the Beatbox speaker available from Speeddots, and the second is the Kinivo BBT20 headset. In both instances, pairing is difficult, and the connection is unreliable when pairing is successful (the connection is often lost). In the case of the speaker, I simply use the line-in cord, but the headset has no such option.
Another problem with the headset is that the Macbook will not recognize that it is also a microphone. In other words, the computer insists on using the built-in mic. When I attempt to change which microphone is being used (both in system preferences and Skype settings), I lose audio in the headset. This is problematic because it renders Voice Over unusable.
Because both devices work with the iPhone, I'm reasonably sure that nothing is wrong with the hardware, and that it's a Mac problem. In that case, are their any suggestions for fixing it?
Thanks.
