Bluetooth devices that work well with screen readers?

Given that VO can't be readily separated from other sound output on IOS, even with the audio destination rotor option, I haven't been very interested in Bluetooth audio. However, for those of us with, say, a Mac mini, Intel NUC, or Intel compute stick (I'm in the latter category), a bluetooth speaker as the computer's primary audio device would be fabulous if one is not connecting to a monitor. I've tried several speakers lately, only to find that most of them seem to have to sort of soft-connect to the computer each time the screen reader starts a new utterance after a pause. Specifically, after about a 5 second silence, the next utterance by the screen reader will start muted and then ramp up in volume, so that the first syllable is lost each time.
Who can list bluetooth devices still on the market that do this, and who can list devices still on the market that work great with screen readers?

Here are my own results. Saying "no" means that the device exhibits the problem noted above.
Plantronics Voyager Legend headset: works very well with VO and Windows screen readers.
Bose Soundlink Revolve: works like a champ with VO on IOS and NVDA on windows.
Bose Soundlink Mini 2: reports say it works well.
Amazon Tap: No.
Anker Soundcore Nano: No.
Riva Turbo X: No.
Motorola AQ7: no.

If anybody has figured out what causes the described issue, and if there's a way around it, I'd love to hear about it.
