weird issue with VoiceOver and braille displays

So when typing with a braille display VoiceOver announces both the previous word I typed and the word I typed before pressing space. How long has this been a thing? I don't remember this being a bug before. Mind you I haven't used a braille display in a while. Also at least with this Brailliant 14 typing is very jumpy and can cause me to find gibberish instead of what I type. in a long session longer than about 3 sentences.  About text formats

Discovered the same situation typing on my BrailleOne Braille Display, reading the previous and current word. I purchased the BrailleOne in the beginning of September. Doesn't bother me to much though
