Hello Everyone,
I have an Iphone 13 and an Apple Watch Series 5 paired to my RefreshaBraille 18 Braille display and am experiencing an issue that hopefully someone can help me with.
Almost a couple weeks ago, I installed the latest IOS updates on both my watch and phone. Everything was working fine with my watch, phone and Braille display until the update.
After the update was installed, it seems like the Braille display is not shutting down properly or something when I lock my screen on my phone and attempt to switch over to my watch. When I lock the phone and try to switch over to my watch, nothing happens and the Braille display is blank. The only way I found to get Braille back on the watch was to shut down the Braille display, turn it bak on and very quickly try to wake up the watch. Sometimes when I use this method, it takes 2, 3, or 4 attemptes before I can get Braille from the watch onto the Braille Display. I should add that when I lock the screen on my phone before the update came down, the display used to default back to “APH chris”.
Now, if I wanted to switch back from my watch to the Iphone, I have to reverse the process I described in the above paragraph in order to get braille from my phone.
As I stated earlier, before the latest IOS updates were installed, I never had this problem. Sent an email to the Accessibility Team at Apple and they want me to do some Bluetooth logging/diagnostics and send it to them. I’m thinking that maybe I need to break out the heavy artillery (wipe my devices clean and start from scratch). Anyone out there have any suggestions that I can try before I have to bring in the sledgehammer??
Thanks,
Chris
