Hello all,
I am a heavy braille user, and my experiences while editing text on the iPhone have been so bad that I can no longer do the majority of what I need to.
In any regular text field, such as in Notes, Messages, or Mail, there's a huge navigation problem. If there are multiple blocks of text separated by a return character, I run into this issue:
Let's say there are five paragraphs, and my cursor is located anywhere inside the third paragraph. If I route the cursor to any other location in that same paragraph, it will jump up to the first paragraph. In other words, routing the cursor anywhere inside the same paragraph actually positions it inside the first paragraph. This does not seem to happen inside text fields that are labeled as multi-line, such as the field for this post.
It's gotten to the point where I'm forced to strategically position my cursor in one paragraph before I can edit another, and frankly, I've had it.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a workaround?
In case it's relevant, the braille display is a Focus 40 5th generation, and this problem has been around since at least iOS 26.4, but probably longer.
