OTbeat Burn in iOS Bluetooth Settings

Braille on Apple Products

Hi everyone. Subject is pretty accurate. I've had some time to kill today, so figured I'd practice a bit with the NLS eReader which I just recently received. This question isn't about the eReader itself, or at least I don't think it is. But anyway, I've been attempting to pair it with my Mac and/or iPhone to get a better refresher on Braille displays since I'm not terribly keen on them in the first place. I used a VersaBraille when I lived in another state, but that's apparently no longer manufactured anywhere. That may be a topic inandof itself. But when I turned on my iPhone's blue-tooth and was looking through there, I came to a button simply labeled "OTbeat Burn". I double-tapped that button just to see what would happen, and within a few seconds VoiceOver told me that the connection process took too long. Then I saw an OK button and double-tapped that. Has anybody else heard of OTbeat Burn before and if so, what is it and how can I remove it? Today was the first time it appeared for me.

Update: I did a search for OTbeat Burn, and it seems to be some sort of heart monitor. But it didn't appear when I went into blue-tooth again on my iPhone.

Hi,

The display needs to be paired under accessibility, VoiceOver, then the braille category.

Thanks Shawn. I just looked in the Braille category on my iPhone, and I'm a bit confused still but will figure it out with time. Thanks again for your help though, very much appreciated. I am just very new to this but will get it eventually. I suppose we're all a bit new to this in a way since these eReaders are in a sense new.

Can you provide a link to this NLS EReader? I am a Bard user, but am not very familiar with this eReader. Thanks.

A handful of states still do not have the NLS Braille eReader. I would recommend checking with your cooperating network library to find out if your state has it. North Carolina still does not have it yet.

under settings, accessibility, voiceover, braille, choose a braille display. You will find the reader. Double tap on it. It should pair.
