Orbit Reader Q40 and iOS

Hello,
Does anyone here have an Orbit Reader Q40--the QWERTY keyboard version of their Braille display--and have it working in "remote mode" with an iOS device? I understand it should work but I cannot get the Q40 to go into remote mode and display Braille. It says it pairs via Bluetooth, but after that step I cannot get Braille to display from VoiceOver. I am curious if this is just a "me" problem? Or anyone else has had issues? Even better yet if you have do you know how to get it working?
