Navigating Web Pages With Focus 40

I'm wondering what the most efficient way would be to navigate web pages with a Focus 40? I currently set the rotor to headings and navigate that way. I was under the impression that I could turn on single letter navigation and navigate that way. This doesn't seem to work for me. When I press dots 1-2-3-4-5-7 chord, the display says, single letter nav on/off. Then if I try to hit h to navigate by heading, nothing happens. What am I doing wrong?

I assume this is something you are trying to do on iOS? I don't use MacOS these days because braille is not so good, but here is what I do.
First, to address your question, Single Letter QuickNav doesn't appear to be working for braille display users with models that have the Perkins-style keyboard. What I've done is set up some customized commands for jumping to headings, form controls and so forth. Also, space with F for text search can be your friend. As for setting up commands, I'll walk you through how to set up one for next heading, and you can set them up with other controls as well. First, go to Settings>Accessibility>VoiceOver>Braille>the name of your Device>More
Info>Braille Commands”. Within this screen, you will find seven categories for configuring new or existing commands. You will also find the option to “Reset All Commands” at the bottom of this screen. For next heading, you would want the navigation category. You can do space with F once you select this category and search for heading, or scroll to it if you wish. Select next heading and then navigate to Assign New Braille Keys. Now, press the keyboard shortcut you have in mind. I use dot 8 with h in this case, but you can pick whatever you like. Have a scroll through all of the options, command customization adds a heck of a lot of efficiency, at least for me. I hope these things will help you navigate a bit better.

Scott Davert has done a great job. I would add that the Focus has keys that assigned functions that you may not use so often, so you may reassign them to help you navigate web pages. For me the left and right rockers pressed together navigate through headings, panning keys for links. Basically these are the two main elements in a web page that you may need to navigate through quickly. Other controls like buttons and edit fields are easily navigable by one key nav.

Hi everyone, I found this Apple support article to be helpful with RBD on iOS-https://support.apple.com/en-us/118665

Does anyone know how to transfer Braille books from Bard or Bookshare in .brf format to the Focus 40 using Bluetooth? Or do I have to be connected to a computer to transfer files to the focus 40?
Thank you

I want to thank everyone for replying to this thread. Your help is greatly appreciated. I was also able to find Scott's tips on using Braille displays. He has 2 recent articles on the Helen Keller site. They are definitely worth a read.
