Hi,
Using an iPhone SE and an orbit reader braille display, when I try to delete a character from a word which is displayed with a contraction, the whole word will be deleted. e.g. if I type f o r and then a space; the characters "f", "o" and "r" will be converted to the contraction for the word "for" (dots 1-2-3-4-5-6); and if I then press backspace to delete the space, then backspace again meaning to delete the letter "r", tthe entire word "for" will be deleted. Is it possible via some option in the braille settings to change this behaviour so only one character at a time is deleted? Or iis this always the behaviour?

I think this is normal.
It's always happened to me, and now sometimes only one character will be deleted at a time, particularly when braille display is starting to become sluggish due to a large block of text, or when I've been typing fast...Now isn't that strange? If you want to delete the one character maybe try deleting it through selection? Even for me it's inconsistent and it doesn't happen to certain ones such as for. For has always been a tricky one, because ever since IOS14 it has been spelling out all the characters as I type them after I put a for contraction. For example I type the word "forget" and VO speech is as follows: First character: "F-O-R" Second character "G" third character: "G-E" last character: "G-E-T". I actually prefer it deleting by whole contractions, makes it faster.
