braille translation in IOS

Hey everyone, I'm at a point where I use my braille display as my one and only way of interfacing with my IPhone. My 5s is getting pretty close to biting the dust and I'm thinking about getting the 6 or 6s. On my 5s, I notice that I can't type in contracted braille very fast without the phone falling behind. I then have to stop and wait for it to catch up. I've got automatic braille translation off, such that when I hit the space bar at the end of a word, it is only then translated. What have been people's experiences with phones with faster processors than the 5s when it comes to laggy braille translation and input? If I get a faster phone, will this improve?

Hi. If you're using iOS 9, you can change the time which an alert is displayed on your braille display. GO to Settings, General, Accessibility, VoiceOver, and braille and then change it under alert display duration. If you're running iOS 8, you may wish to go in to the VoiceOver settings, typing feedback, and turn the software and hardware keyboards to none. TO speed things up a bit more, also try turning automatic braille translation on instead of off. I find the 6S is much faster with braille input. I hope some of this is helpful.

Thankss Scott :) It was the braille input speed I was wondering about. I don't like to have automatic translation on because if I stop typing in the middle of a word then whatever letter I left off on will turn into a word in its own right. I guess I'll be ordering one.
