I am planning to participate for the first time in the Braille Readers Are Leaders contest under the Adult Category. I am a Novice Braille reader as I only started learning late in life.
So, I am looking for the best/most efficient way to read Grade 1 Braille via my phone using iOS.
I already have an Orbit Reader 20 Plus connected to my phone and set to Grade 1 output, but I’m wondering which apps allow for the most efficient, hassle-free reading.
I am already subscribed to Bookshare and I do have BARD, Apple Books, Libby and the Kindle app.

Uncontracted braille
NLS books are mostly contracted braille, the other sources would be a better choice. The only thing to set is Orbit reader to uncotracted braille. The standard is US UEB for the Orbit Reader.
The actual source you choose, should be whatever book you want to read, and which ever app you like the best to read the book. They'll all work about the same as far as the braille display is concerned.
Dolphin Easy Reader or Voice Dream Reader?
So, so far, from various other sources, I am hearing that Voice Dream Reader works well for Bookshare books. However, it is around $20.
Bookshare also mentions Dolphin Easy Reader, which is free, so I’m wondering if anyone knows how well that works with Braille displays.
Also, do these readers autoscroll the Braille or is there a way to read at your own speed?
I apologize if this is rude ...
Because I am usually very sarcastic, I wanted to clarify that my upcoming question is not meant to be rude. You mentioned Voice Dream Reader being nearly $20, but what is $20 next to the cost of a braille display? With all of the benefits you can get from Voice Dream, including the ability to read braille, listen with audio, and the vast number of sources, to me it would be a fantastic choice.
