Auto-connecting to a Braille display

Using a Verizon iPhone with iOS 4.2.6 and a BrailleConnect 12, the phone is not auto-connecting to the Braille display when the phone is turned on. Instead I have to go into the VoiceOver settings and click the connect button each time the phone is turned on. A major inconvenience and usability and accessibility issue for me. I did not have this issue with a previous model of the iPhone and this same Braille display. Has anyone encountered this and found any fixes or workarrounds? (I did try doing a "restore" of the iOS software from iTunes, but that didnt' help.)

I sometimes have this problem with my Braille Connect 32 using my iPhone 4S. I also have problems with my Apex connecting sometimes. With IOS 5 have you tried a restore from iCloud? I did and it fixed all my problems.

I use an iPhone 4 with AT&T. While I do not have this problem every time I turn the phone on, it has occurred on occasion. I don't know what the problem is or how to fix it. Hopefully the next upgrade to IOS 5 will fix it.
Hi Keith. Sometimes, although very infrequently now with iOS 5, this still happens. While it can not be totally avoided, I've found the most effective way of doing this process is to turn the device on , and if necissary, put it in to terminal mode. Then, wait about 10 seconds before pressing the home key on the phone.
