Hello everyone,
First, apologies if this has been posted before, but I am curious about whether or not someone has managed to successfully connect an NLS Ereader to an Aple Watch successfully? I tried earlier today, and the first time I did, it paired, but everytime I tried to access the Watch from the display, it would beep, then return me to the devices page on the display. I then tried unpairing it, restarting both devices, and reconnecting it. Again, no dice, though this time it absolutely refused to connect at all even when it did find the watch.
I did try to make the connection from the braille section of voiceover both times, in case anyone is wondering. Any help or clarification regarding this matter would be very much appreciated!

this should work.
You are doing so correctly. It should absolutely work.
It should work, but....
Hi Ather. What a blast from the past! I hope you have been doing good the past however many years. TO answer your question, I was never able to get the eReader from Humanware to connect reliably. However, on my Brailliant, which runs a more updated firmware but is essentially the same physical device, I am able to use my Series 7 Watch just fine. It will kill your watch battery, but does work. I hope this helps, though I'm sorry for the bad news!
Hi Scott and thanks!
It is a blast from the past indeed, first of all, and I also hope you have been doing well.
I keep being told that it is not going to work with the Ereaders, and I wonder why, especially since it's pretty much the same hardware across the board, though of course the software is different. I'm almost tempted to try connecting an original orbit reader 20 to the watch and seeing how that behaves at this point. Anyways, thanks for the response, I really appreciate it. I will try with a Brailliant!
same issue
I have also tried connecting an NLS EReader to my watch as this is the only display I have at the moment. I get the same issue it says pairing unsuccessful.
Firmware issue
I know that even the Brailliant doesn't connect to all watches reliably. For example, I couldn't get it to work with my Series 56, but it works quite well with my 7. I don't believe Humanware officially support it for that reason. Ather: I'm back in Micigan now, feel free to drop me a line if you wish.
orbit reader 20
First of all, @Scott I definitely will be dropping you a line!
Second of all, I actually tried connecting the watch to my Orbit Reader 20 this morning, and actually it connected without any issues. The way it displays things is a bit weird to be sure, but it did connect, let me type and everything. So yeah, definitely a hardware issue that I'll probably submit something about to both parties.
Thanks all for your responses!
