What the heck is Meta doing to instagram web UI?

It's about time we talk about this.
My latest experience before today with insta in the dms was that the table to navigate threads was accessible and there we could get the preview of the last sent / received message, but other messages in the list were not accessible with screen readers we'd just see the timestampts at best.
I've just logged in back on instagram web.OMG.
I have this weird not accessible auto scrolling auto refresh UI with the threads that are buttons somehow, they keep scrolling in random directions, before I'd just get one random message from the top list and nothing, NVDA would say loading busy progress bar... Then after doing very weird stuff with the mouse I somehow get the thing to behave better with keyboard, now i have to do tab and shift tab and I can more or less go to the message I want but I have to try to, stear, this semi auto scrolling mess.
The good thing IMO is that everyone on reddit is trashing the UI, I saw a weird article on alibaba from all places

I don't know how accurate / true / up to date this is, but from what I gathered online the experience now is less than usable for everyone and accessibility is somehow still better than what it was for me before. There is a collective understanding that basically instagram put engineering efforts on the mobile apps and little to none to the web UI.
Yet I have this other blind friend of mine who seems to only use instagram daily on laptop too like it's perfect messenger web experience (on windows I mean).
