Hello. I am having a wifi connection issue on my NLS Zoomax Braille display eReader. I tried entering my wifi credentials manually several times and each time, an error came up which said, “Error, no Internet connection.” I then read a tip in the March, 2020, issue of Access World. It said that if the user is experiencing technical issues, they could create a text file on a flash drive, save it to the drive’s root, and then insert the drive in the Zoomax. It also said a NLS cartridge could be used, but I don’t have the actual playback machines, so I didn’t have a cartridge. Anyway, I put the flash drive in after the display showed the main menu. The display then did its part and I’m either restarted or powered off. This happened several times. It powered off when I tried to list either the known or visible wifi networks in wifi settings.
I realize this is a very specific issue, but I’ decided to post here before I emailed the company. I would contact my state’s branch of NLS, but when I had other technical issues before on the first display, most of the library were sighted and only knew what the manual said, if that. Another blind person who happened to work for the library gave me specific hellp in that case. I’m using a replace ment model they sent. Also, for what it’s worth, the customer service email for Zoomax, in case anyone else needs to contact them, is:
Info@zoomax.com
Thanks in advance for any help.
