There is a webinar about using the BrailleSense with the Dot Pad X on April 27, 12 PM EST. It will be interesting to see how the capabilities this provides compare with what the apps on the Monarch offer, since both the Monarch and the BrailleSense run Android and have a lot of apps in common like a word processor, book reader, email client, and Braille math support. The BrailleSense also has a graphing program which should be coming to the Dot Pad X as well, which is another thing very similar to the Monarch. Buying the BrailleSense 7 plus the Dot Pad X is also cheaper than buying a Monarch, and this combination lets you just use the BrailleSense by itself when you do not need the Dot Pad X, and gives you a web browser and the Google Play Store and Play services, which the Monarch lacks. However, the Monarch does have a larger display (32 cells wide by 10 lines versus 20 cells wide by 10 lines). Both the Dot Pad X and the Monarch work with JAWS and NVDA, while iOS has better support for the Dot Pad X than the Monarch although Monarch support is improving I think.
