Hi everyone.
Today for Global Accessibility Awareness Day, we here at Be My Eyes launched our alliance with Innosearch.ai, an AI-powered eCommerce portal.
Have you seen it? Have you tried it through the be Me My Eyes app? What do you think of this move?
psst: DId you maybe even notice it before it was announced?
Would love to hear what you all are thinking.
For people that do not know what innosearch.ai is:
Launched in March 2024, Innosearch is a fully accessible AI-powered platform built specifically for blind and low vision users, offering seamless access to digital services like online shopping, flight booking, and soon, grocery and food delivery. With over 1 billion products in its catalog and support for the U.S., U.K., Australia, and Canada, Innosearch is redefining accessibility in the digital age.
Here is more news about the announcement, if people are interested: https://www.bemyeyes.com/news/be-my-eyes-to-provide-in-app-accessible-shopping/
Looking forward to your thoughts and feedback.

I haven't found the in app…
I haven't found the in app Innosearch feature yet but that is very cool.
what about india?
please bring it to other countrys as well.
misleading title.
I found it; when you tap on it; it opens the shopping site but the title makes it sound like the shopping happens inside the app.
This is good
I love innosearch and have used it as my goto shopping site instead of Amazon these days. I'm unlikely to use it through the BME app if it is just linking to the web site but if it brings more exposure to what innosearch is doing then I am all for it.
Oh sure.
I'm all for adding more to BeMyEyes but I think it should be made clearer that it opens the website in the browser, maybe it does and I just rushed when it came to reading the label, others will have to let me know,, if they want to.
@mr grieves
I didn't want to post it in the initial post, but you also get a 2% cashback, which is (apparently) exclusive. I don't know the finer details tbh.
yep, it just opens the website
This is a good idea. I haven't created an Innosearch account yet, because I keep forgetting to try it. I'm still on Amazon, old habbits die hard I suppose. I'm going to email Innosearch and Be My Eyes to give them feedback. I think it would be better if Innosearch is integrated directly into the Be My Eyes app. there could be an option to link your Be My Eyes and Innosearch accounts together in Settings, and once that’s done, you could open the Innosearch option from the Service Directory, and there would be an edit field to type in what you want to search for. And when the search results come up, there could be some VoiceOver rotor actions for each product, for example, Ask Follow-up Questions, or Purchase this Product. This would be easier than going to the website every time you want to buy something.
Seconded
I second everything Tara said above!
Thirded
I still think I'd prefer amazon but yeah, these are amazing ideas!
In fact; if it were an app, I think I'd actually want to use the survice, it would make things quicker to just use the rotor, flick down, see a description of a thing, decide if I want it or not and move on with my day.
I'll say this, even though I don't think the website is my kind of thing; I'm really happy at how dedicated to accessibility they are, the website works fine on safari as well as web browsers.
I do wonder what their numbers are when it comes to the amount of people using the shopping experience over the phone is, I honestly think that was a bit of an odd idea, I'd remind the team that AI can be good, but I think there's a line that must be observed when it comes to AI, there's the productivity/fun side, then there's the lazy side.
