Does anyone know why Aira isn't supporting the IPhone SE models with the rei band glasses? If be my eyes can there's no reason Aira shouldn't be able to either. The SE is still a good phone and is equivelant to an IPhone 13. Has anyone tried to join the program saying they have an IPhone13 when it's really an SE and had any success? I was thinking about doing that just to see what would happen.

This is just speculation but I surmise it's because the battery on the SE is so much smaller. Getting the video from the glasses will drain phone battery fast, much more than your typical bluetooth devices. I totally agree you should be able to do it if you want but that's one really important way the SE is inferior to the 13.

So, I get with a poster above is saying, but my question is, isn’t the video coming directly from the Meta RayBans? What does that have to do with the iPhone battery?

Yeah, processing video takes a lot more battery than just audio on both ends of the line. If you want to test this out listen to a podcast in your player of choice for an hour, go watch that same podcast on youtube for an hour and see which drains the vattery more. Even with screen curtain on. People should be able to do it if they want but I can see some UX people getting fired up about it not meeting internal company targets or something.

The Bluetooth and internet are connected via the iPhone
and iPhones in reality do not offer the best performance talking about battery
