I love the new beta.
The new option to record calls is excelent.
I have bin waiting to it many time.
It's some of bugs, but it's ok and i'm dealing with it and no complains.

I just posted regarding type to siri and issues with accessing open apps.

What other updates have there been?

Siri is still an idiot.

"Open amazon"

'Which one? Amazon video or amazon."

"Amazon."

* Opens amazon video.

Since the first 18.0 developer beta, my iPad Pro would not let me enter my passcode with my Bluetooth keyboard. I keep VoiceOver and Quick Nav enabled. When I would wake my iPad, I would hear VoiceOver prompt me for the passcode, then I would hear the descending tone indicating Quick Nav disabled. But right after that, I would hear the ascending tone, re-enabling Quick Nav. The only way to enter my passcode was to manually disable Quick Nav at that point.

Naturally I opened a feedback report. And I'm happy to relay the good news that, after three and a half months, this issue is finally resolved. Yay!

I'm glad they have added the call recording option. will this work with everyone who's running iOS 18 as well? if yes, that's cool.

I believe call recording works on all iPhone models capable of running iOS 18.1, and is not a feature of Apple Intelligence.

Oh cool! are you able to share audio recordings to friends?

By Ayub Abraham Flores on Monday, September 30, 2024 - 13:45

I think so. I think you are only able to share audio recordings with people that you have in your contacts.

awesome! I herd a few audio demos and the quality sounds good.

In iOS 18 beta 5, there's a bug with notifications. When a notification comes in, my iPhone makes a sound and provides haptic feedback. However, when I drag my finger just below the status bar to check the notification, it's there, but VoiceOver acts like nothing is present. I have to go to the Notification Center to read it.

I think it was letter E. It probably will not be out until last week of Oct or first week of Nov.

For some reason, whenever I turn off VoiceOver, it doesn’t say it is off. I know it’s off because if I triple click the side button again, it comes back on. Quite a weird bug in my opinion

Ye'h I noticed this with the latest update. Oddly it still says voiceover on when you turn it back on. Hardly major but strange.

Good morning,
Yup, I'm seeing this bug on my iPhone 15 pro.
Also, on this phone, I'm having trouble opening notifications center. The only reliable way I can bring it down, is to use the new Braille screen input command for it, which is dots 4-6, when in command mode.
Although, I just tried it twice & it failed both times.
Any tips?

Report any bugs you find. I'm off to report the voiceover off bug now.

Not fully hearing the voice over off announcement. What's interesting is once I heard it say voice over off as if it was trying to get the words out but it was cut off before I could complete the announcement.
Also the notification bug is quite frustrating. voice over does not read it. Not completely sure if the banner is appearing there and voice over is unable to focus on it or if it is simply not appearing

I have an iPhone 14 Pro and pretty much the only things I have noticed that are new are the call recording feature and a reset button in control center. I'm starting to get bored because Apple does not allow Apple Inteligence on older models and they didn't give us so much as a UI upgrade for Siri nor did they roll out the more expressive Siri voices to older models. I don't have a Mac and so I can't downgrade, but I don't have many good things to say about Apple's software department right now. I'm still trying to figure out why Apple Inteligence requires 8GB of RAM when they also discussed Private Cloud Compute at WWDC24. Hopefully the ChatGPT direct iOS integration will come in 18.2 because at this point I'm getting BOOOOOOOORED!!! 😴

Has the drag and drop feature to the dock been fixed? I can start a drag session, but can't move apps to the dock in 18.0. Same issue with trying to drag apps in the Control Centre - have to do it the old way by dragging my finger around on the screen.
