Hi AppleVi's members.
I was wondering how to resolve the issue where VoiceOver loses speech completely when updating to iOS 26.
My friend has updated to iOS 26 on his iPhone SE 2022 and lost speech.
Resetting all settings twice didn't get speech up and running either.
So was wondering how did you guys manage to get past this major issue with VoiceOver.
Looking forwards to your reply!

Your Feedback is Important to Improving Accessibility on Apple platforms
Don't assume that Apple is aware of a bug or that your report won't make a difference - submitting bug reports directly to the company helps them reproduce and resolve the issue faster. Your report may provide crucial information. The more reports they receive, the higher the priority they give to fixing the bug.

Sighted assistance
Based on what I read here, I was prepared for the possibility of not having speech when the update installed. I had another phone handy to call BME or Aira for help. The agent helped me navigate to VO Settings and change to a different voice, in my case it was Eloquence Eddie. Hopefully they will fix this in future beta updates.
I'd recommend downgrading if they can.
I think I did a soft reset but they need to either do that, or go to voiceover and change the voice but if you can't see that's hard to do.
