Apple Beta Releases

Hello,
I was looking on the Apple viz. website, and was not able to find any information on how to customize the lock screen in the iOS 16, beta five. I couldn’t find a button anywhere on the lock screen, but when I googled it, it said to press on some thing after the lock screen came up. I was unable to find anything about this. Is there any information on how to actually modify the lock screen with voiceover enabled? Thank you so much for any help so far, the public beta of iOS 16, beta five, is working well for me that’s far.

Your Feedback is Important to Improving Accessibility on Apple platforms

Don't assume that Apple is aware of a bug or that your report won't make a difference - submitting bug reports directly to the company helps them reproduce and resolve the issue faster. Your report may provide crucial information. The more reports they receive, the higher the priority they give to fixing the bug.

If you're using a beta version, use the Feedback Assistant on your device to submit feedback and bug reports. If you're using a public release, follow the instructions on this page.

The Lock Screen customization interface seems quite buggy at the moment, but my understanding is that new lock screens can be created by unlocking your iPhone, but not going to the Home Screen. Then, triple-tap (or double-tap and hold) either the date or time and in the window that appears, double-tap the "Add Lock Screen wallpaper" button. You should then be prompted to select a wallpaper for the new Lock Screen, as well as the widgets you want to display on it.

This is definitely not very accessible, I tried triple tapping on the time, and it brought up the new wallpaper button, not extremely accessible to change your ad widgets on screens, and knowing what you are choosing any of you found this to be usable and how did you find the ability to change the lock screen. there doesn’t seem to be any type of him know how to change it.

Well they should fix it but because is just for blind people is not that important. We will see. Next week be beta 6 public and after that RC. Apple has 2 weeks to fix it.

It's getting progressively better with each beta release, but it still needs a lot of work. Currently I'm noting issues with infinite element scrolling and no verbal feedback when selecting a widget to add. I've reported it and submitting feedback, so we'll see if they fix it in time for release. It technically works, but it's not at all an enjoyable experience with Voiceover. Maybe the dev beta is ahead of the public beta?

I hope tyhis gets fleshed out soon as it is a genuinely cool feature

I went into settings/wallpaper and then clicked on customize lock screen wallpaper. You can add widgets and stuff there. I didn't actually try it by clicking on the lock screen.

@Holger, don't you think you're being a bit demanding here? Yes, there are bugs with this new thing. These will no doubt be addressed in time. But only giving OS devs a short amount of time to fix something like this is, at best, incredibly demanding, and at worst just plain rude. The best thing you could do is what others have done (IE, submit feedback in a constructive manner and wait.) Please do better. Thanks.

Hello, as many others have said, I am not even really sure that I understand what modifying the lock green means. I don’t really care about the wallpaper as I’m totally vlind, but what I thought it was going to be like, was more in the way of actually having access to the different icons on the lock screen, such as you do on your Apple Watch face is this how it’s supposed to work? You select each thing that shows up, including the flashlight button, and other items on your current lock screen?
At least, this is what I thought it was going to be when it said customize. I also never thought about going into this place settings I looked under the settings menu, and did not see anything about custom lock screens, so wasn’t even sure how to bring it up.

It does not work on the iPad this is a iPhone feature. I pay for my phone I am able to say what I think needs to be fix. No one gave me my phone for free.

Yes, this is true. But just because you paid for your phone, and probably your iPad too, doesn't mean that you have to badmouth something like this that works on one device and not another. Do better.

I keep hearing in Youtube that iOS 16 is ready and that is going well. This is why I do not like it. I posted several times in their comment section letting them know that Voiceover is not working for those who use it and want to use the lock screen. Media keep saying iOS 16 is good. Well they not checking issues with bugs for VO. Also I am free to comment on what I feel.

Honestly bugs are expected with beta software, so I don't think it's a smart thing to judge pre-release software like that. Yes you bought your iDevice, but you also willingly installed beta software on it.
That said, if the same bugs persist on release, I suppose it's fine to complain all you like, but being constructive doesn't hurt in my opinion
