Share Your Bug Reports with AppleVis
If you experience a bug in Apple Beta Software, the most important thing you can do is to file a report in Feedback Assistant. Please do not assume that Apple is already aware of a bug or that your report won't make a difference; your report may provide crucial information, and submitting bug reports directly to Apple helps them reproduce and resolve the issue faster. The more reports they receive, the higher the priority Apple is likely to give to fixing the bug.
If you are using beta software, please use the Feedback Assistant on your device to submit feedback and bug reports. If you are using a public release, this blog post explains how to report the issue and what information to include.
In 2025, AppleVis launched the Community Bug Reporting Program with the goal of improving the quality and quantity of information we share with the community about bugs in Apple software releases. If you would like to contribute to this effort, please submit your reports via our Community Bug Report Form.
All reports shared with AppleVis must first be filed with Apple via Feedback Assistant. More information about the Community Bug Program is available here.

Probably goes without saying
Report this. It could just be a bug in the beta.
The fact that we, as paying customers, have to beta test the product we've bought to make sure it works is nuts. Apple are an evil company wearing a bright white grin: capitalism at its very worst.
I would say everyone in the apple accessibility team should be fired... But it seems like that's already happened.
Confused
I don't understand the issue at all. BSI has always defaulted to landscape mode when turned on. These phone screens are tiny. Most people can't use tabletop mode at all because the screen is too small to be comfortable in landscape as it is.
As for complaining about beta testing... You're about a decade late to that party. People volunteer to beta test the new iOS all the time.
re last comment
i know it goes to landscape when turned on, but mine on my iphone 17 pro, keeps activating the portrait one-handed mode as well but i don't ask the phone to start that mode and sometimes when i go to type, even in landscape it in the explore mode.
A possibility
This could be an orientation lock issue. While in BSI mode, try swiping down with three fingers to toggle orientation lock. If it's locked, that should unlock it and allow it to go into landscape mode, and vice versa.
HTH.
Beta Issue
Significant difference between the great masses beta testing and refining bugs and a fringe group expected to test the very elements that make the devices accessible. I think this is often overlooked. Betas only really work if you have a significant enough number of people doing them. Asking such a group who rely on their devices and, when they break, causing more problems than for sighted users, is unacceptable.
And, the evidence suggests it doesn't work anyway. IOS and Mac OS especially, are still riddled with bugs despite all the time we've all spent reporting them. We are a low priority, but my god, we're a perfect PR opportunity.
sorta agree with doll eye
i do agree with you but apple isn't forcing you to beta test, i stopped beta testing cause stable updates feel like betas most of the time
Voiceover focus jumping is still here in iPadOS 26, it started in iPad OS 16 for me, got really bad in iPadOS 17 and 18
