I am running the Mac OS Sonoma beta software. My feedback question pertains to a situation where two Voiceover voices, namely Alex and Daniel, are concurrently operational, leading to an overlap in audio output. Alex's voice is active during navigational instances like the dock and app navigation points such as headings, landmarks, lists, and links. Conversely, Daniel's voice sporadically activates, encompassing scenarios like vocalizing typed input, reading out app text, and specific button descriptions. These voices exhibit unpredictability within various app contexts, occasionally causing lag or non-functionality, thereby disrupting the overall audio experience.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to work around this?

Your Feedback is Important to Improving Accessibility on Apple platforms
Don't assume that Apple is aware of a bug or that your report won't make a difference - submitting bug reports directly to the company helps them reproduce and resolve the issue faster. Your report may provide crucial information. The more reports they receive, the higher the priority they give to fixing the bug.
If you're using a beta version, use the Feedback Assistant on your device to submit feedback and bug reports. If you're using a public release, follow the instructions on this page.

Default voice
One thing I'd check is that the different types of items that VoiceOver speaks are all set to your default voice, the voice you expect to speak everything. To do this, open VoiceOver Utility > Speech > Voices, and click the Edit button in the "Customize language list" table. Make sure your default voice is set to the one you want, and make sure the additional options are all set to be spoken by your default voice; note that you may need to expand the "Additional voice options" disclosure triangle for these options to become visible.
