Your Feedback is Important to Improving Accessibility on Apple platforms

Don't assume that Apple is aware of a bug or that your report won't make a difference - submitting bug reports directly to the company helps them reproduce and resolve the issue faster. Your report may provide crucial information. The more reports they receive, the higher the priority they give to fixing the bug.

If you're using a beta version, use the Feedback Assistant on your device to submit feedback and bug reports. If you're using a public release, follow the instructions on this page.

The ring switch issue from beta 4 is fixed. Similarly, the safari tab issue (leaving safari browser, going to home screen, and returning to safari and website becomes unreadable) is fixed.

The drag and drop issue is still very much an issue. Sometimes the drop before is missing, sometimes the drop after is missing. Sometimes no matter what, the add to folder option is selected and dropping results in an unwanted folder to be created. Or, the app in put into a folder. This is something that I think needs to be taken more seriously. It is becoming more and more difficult to move anything around. I know that many people have submitted bug reports. Perhaps more people can do so.

That mewt problem has been absolutely murdering my mom at as of late
I don’t want to download the beta profile all over again, but since I can’t access the password my mode, I’ll probably install iOS 17 beta all over again I meant device fermware mode

By Dominic on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 - 10:03

I agree
That issue made me lose my brain cells…

While the bug with the mute switch has been fixed, it seems that a different one may have been introduced. Voiceover no longer announces whether or not your device is muted. I actually kind of like this. If it’s on mute, notifications are still not read. That’s nice as well.

By Enes Deniz on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 - 10:03

I have not been able to install any updates ever since installing Beta 3 Rerelease due to storage and connection issues, but the mute status is not announced on my iPhone either. By the way, has Eloquence finally got front teeth?

By Quinton Williams on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 - 10:03

I am still having the issue where braille screen input randomly decides to insert a space and continuously announces it whenever I type a word. Additionally, the quick action gesture still seems to be a bit temperamental.

When I go to the widgets in watchOS 10, voiceover seems to see nothing and doesn't give me any options to interact with anything on the screen. Definitely going to be reporting this.

By KE8UPE on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 - 10:03

Good evening,
After updating to the newest watchOS 10 beta, I just took a quick glance at my widgets, and they read and are usable with voiceover.

I am glad that the controls in the home app are fixed. however the issue with Siri as well as the issue with the number pad in the phone app are not. these are important bugs.

By Siobhan on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 - 10:03

In watch OS 10, is it fixed when out of nowhere, your watch says like eight days ago, you can close your move rings, etc? because I don't know why but my 9.6 one still does and all notifications are cleared. Can someone either have this issue, or if you have, is it fixed?

By Quinton Williams on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 - 10:03

So, it appears that we still cannot read the transcripts for audio messages. Whenever I try, I get "transcript unavailable". From watching youtube, it's salso apparently possible to speed up messages, however voiceover does not see this for some reason.

Please remember to reset your settings. It is very important to do this regularly after every new beta install. The reason is that things can sometimes get wonky during the install process.

Please don’t assume that something is a bug. It requires testing multiple times. And, resetting settings is part of beta testing. If it is exhausting or you don’t want to do it, then beta testing is probably not for you.

Please recognize that you are not just playing around with this software. The whole point is to Test. That is not always fun.

just one bug I found:
voiceover can not read the incoming notification.
we have to touch the top left ango of the screen to find what notification it is...
I have report to apple.
and I hope all the beta tester can do it as well.

By Quinton Williams on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 - 10:03

No, this is not a bug. This can now be customized under the verbosity settings under system notifications.

By Dennis Long on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 - 10:03

I need the communities help to report this please.
Reproduce by turning off the following under settings general and keyboard.
1 auto correct.
2 predictive.
Then go to miss spelled words. Fix your errors go back through it again. There should be no words. You fixed them. Those same words you fixed will be there. Do the same exact test in messages it works fine.

The developer beta5 in my experience has fixed the following bugs
1. The mute switch works properly.
2. The text of the emails up to beta4 had a bug, whereby flicking the flick went to infinity, not stopping at the beginning.
3. Braille screen input up to beta4 pressing volume up caused exit from this mode.
4. In some phones, when you put the phone close to your ear during the phone call, you listened voiceover that talked a lot.
All these bugs have been fixed.

By ming on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 - 10:03

@Quinton Williams
I didn't change anything.
in the last beta.
voice over would read all the incoming notification.
but, this beta.
it doesnt work...

By Siobhan on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 - 10:03

I like the notifications not interrupting me when I read or am doing other things. Has anyone had voice over randomly go to the earpiece for no reason? It's kinda weird. How do I reset all settings? I don't wanna mess up things.

By Chris Hill on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 - 10:03

if iTunes would actually do a backup. That hasn't worked around here even when tried with a different computer since about IOS 13 or 14. You can sure tell which areas get the love.

I’ve never found resetting settings useful, but that also could be because I’ve never tried it.
I have custom voiceover settings which take me an arm and a leg to reset up, but for those who want to know how, here is how you reset settings.

Open settings
Click general
Click transfer or reset iPhone
Tap reset
Press reset all settings, then enter your passcode. If it looks like it’s not doing anything, you may need to do it again.
Your phone will reset everything, including all of your voiceover settings back to their factory defaults, which includes any Voice you have set up, as well as rotor settings, verbosity settings, audio settings, quick settings, speaking rate, etc. Don’t worry, the voiceover voices you downloaded for any additional languages or regions aren’t deleted, You are just set back to the default cement the compact or whatever the default voice is for your language or region.
Hope this helps. If you do actually notice any improvements from doing this, please feel free to post them in the comments.

do you version of iOS 17 books much better than the old one the only problem is that Zoe premium is not available on my device. This back exists since the first release of iOS 17.

By Ash Rein on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 - 10:03

It doesn’t always fix issues. However, it has fixed quite a few issues for me in the past. For example, I was having issues with the Mail application and dictation. For the most part, dictation was impossible. I originally assumed it was a bug. And when I called Apple accessibility, they tested it on their own device and they stated that it was working properly. So I decided to reset my settings and it fixed it. No idea what caused it. No idea why it happened. Except like I said, sometimes installing software actually goes a tiny bit wonky. Resetting essentially let you make sure that you are checking off every box

By tunmi13 on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 - 10:03

Is anyone still having that issue where if you are moving by characters in the rotor, or just anything other than quick actions, it will randomly switch to quick actions. For example, you would hear, e, f, g, h, then all of a sudden, drag, activate (default).

By Quinton Williams on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 - 10:03

I've started noticing voiceover saying things very strangely ever since beta 3. Ex. Adventure, purposes, programmers, Grande...
