So, someone gave me an old Lg k50 to play with. Is their a way to send and recieve messages using my email adress as my default contact insted of the old phone number? I might not be explaining this rite. When adding my profile, I want to use my email to send and read texts insted of the number. Is this possible?

Possibly
There's an app called "Google Meet". It's both on play store, and iOS App Store. Anyway, it's like FaceTime, except you can do Meet video and audio calls between iPhone and Android, iPhone and iPhone, and Android and Android phones. I believe you can also text as well. This uses your Gmail email.

Hi,
Sadly, with Google Messages, you can only send and receive texts and voice messages using your phone number. The Google Meet app is really cool because you can make video and voice calls, as well as send video and voice messages. However, I’m not sure about the voice messages part because I can’t find that option anymore, though I know it was possible in the past. As for texting, Google Meet does not support it—it’s only available through the Google Messages app, and that requires your phone number. I’ve checked every single option, and unfortunately, there’s no way to use your email for this. But Google is always updating the Messages app, so let’s hope they make this possible in the future!
Well crap. Can I add this…
Well crap. Can I add this phone to my prepayed plan? Is it worth looking in to?
A clarification
Voice messages and text base messages can be sent with Meet, on iOS. I foolishly believed it was the same on Android.
My mistake.
With regards to text based messages, on iOS it is a button labeled "send note". Interestingly enough, when you activate that button, you can choose text and type in whatever you want, but it also activates your microphone, which I think is for dictating a message as well.

Maybe I am mistaken as well. I don’t know; I have the option to send a video or a voice message, but I’m not able to find a text message option here. From what I understood, the poster was asking if there’s any way to send regular text messages in the Messages app using her email address, and there isn’t a way. Regarding Google Meet, you’re probably right, and I might be missing something. I don’t use Google Meet every day, so it’s possible I’m overlooking something.
Or ...
Its exclusive to iOS. Though I hope not. 😖

Google messages / comminucation are very very messy an they shutdown a service 6 months after release. I think gmessages can be accessed from anywhere in the browser? ...
