Eloquence is back on Android

Just a quick FYI for anyone who didn't know it already. Eloquence is now back on the Play Store. It's a subscription model. I can totally understand why they did it that way, enabling them to provide future updates and upkeep, though I also understand it might not be the most popular decision.
I, for one, am willing to pay for it to have it back, and it is now a 64 bit app, making it compatible with all modern smart phones.
The one issue I've had so far is that it tends to hang a lot, so when you come across a large block of text, even if you try scrolling past it, it keeps reading and causes Talkback to freeze up. This is an issue I was not having with the mod that was made available in the Blind Android Users telegram. But for the first re-release, bringing it up to 2025 standards, it's pretty good. I don't know of any other way to submit feedback other than app reviews, so did that and hope they will get that bug fixed.

Well, if you ever want to update phones to the more modern ones, and you still want eloquence, you don't have much of a choice. I would rather it be a one off, but such are the times we live in, and I want Eloquence beyond my S22 Ultra.

Unfortunately, just about everything is a subscription now. But I agree, a subscription for TTS is really stupid. That’s one thing that’s cool with iPhones and voiceover that we don’t have to pay for any of the voices that we get. This includes eloquence. Also, I wouldn’t want to pay for vocalizer voices. I know people who use androids have to do that. I definitely wouldn’t do it. My favorite vocalizer voices are Karen Samantha and I could use them in any variant. Right now my iPhone SE third generation I used Samantha enhanced and on my iPhone 15 I just can’t premium. I don’t know. I’m still literally not used to the idea of eloquence coming out of my phone. So I just don’t use it.

For those who are saying that they wouldn't pay for eloquence and they're happy they get it for free on iOS. It's because Apple has made a deal with them! Same with vocalizer. Google really believes and it's high-quality voices that they have which most are fine! So it's up to the user whether or not they want vocalizer eloquence, etc. Just two different ways to look at it I guess.
