Accessibility Comments

By chance, I was able to locate the text of email messages, but the rest of the application was a wasteland in terms of being accessible with VoiceOver - impossible to browse or use in anything that comes remotely close to meaningful.

Usability

Some parts of the app are accessible with VoiceOver, but not enough to make it usable.

Did you contact the dev and give them links to make os10 apps more accessible. Also are yousure you were not using os 10.11.4, not 5? 5 isn't even beeing thought of yet. Lol!

OS X 10.11.5 was released last week. So, yes, I do know what version I am running. Thanks for checking, though. And, yes, I also know how to contact a developer, which is why the Airmail developers have links to this post and various other resources. Perhaps this (along with the time and effort of others who also know how to contact a developer) is why VoiceOver support is supposedly now on the roadmap for this application.

10.11.5 came out last week? Odd as I don't think i got an update so still using 10.10.4 hhere. Lol! Either that or I forgot I updated. Oops? Glad to see that voiceover will be on the road map, although in my opinion it should have been thought of from the ground up. But at least that is in the works now.

Yes, here we go again with the same discussions of what is "accessible" and what is not. I agree that there's some work to be done on the app which is why i asked to become a beta tester of both the Mac and the iPhone app. I have also given the developers links to useful resources on Voiceover and just when the app was released i wrote a mail to them about what needs to be done. I don't agree that Airmail is totally inaccessible, but it clearly isn't ready yet to be used as a primary nor secondary mail client. If you have constructive feedback to give i urge you to ask to become beta testers, the more blind people with knowledge of VO the better.

I agree. I don't have time right now but for those who can, send the between 5-15 page detailed reports on every bug you come across. The devs I test for hate me, but they appreciate my detail.

Good luck.
